Which Digital Video Cam?

Im after a digital video cam to use mainly for recording decent drives/ trackdays/ sprints etc etc... I wish to record and edit videos and such to share amongst mates/ PH'ers. Im not particularily technically minded, but would like to be able to edit videos to include music etc etc Is it reasonable to assume I can get something decent for under £300?? I havent got a clue about these things - anyone know of anything that'll meet my requirements? Thanks in advance, Ben CA
