I went hiking in Bolivia recently and my favourite picture from the hike was of a boat on the shore next to a lake so the theme for this month's competition is boats.

They can be big, small, in the water or out of the water, pristine or rotting away, a single boat or an entire marina full of them, whatever you like really as long as there's a boat in the image. I'll leave it up to you.

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please only get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.

The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.

You can only submit one, and only one photo.

The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.

Entries and discussion on this single thread please.

All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.

Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible.

There's still plenty of time to enter for those who haven't done so yet.

Here's what would have been my entry if I wasn't picking this month's winner.

This one has a lovely golden glow to it that contrasts nicely with the blue sky.

Second place.

Nice composition the way the boats are all so similar and pointing the same way presumably because of the tide. Living in a landlocked country, it's years since I even saw the sea but this one made me want to pack my trunks and head off for the Caribbean if I wasn't so poor and still in lockdown. rolleyes

This months winner.

What a perfectly timed photo to capture all those boats against that beautiful golden sunset so well done and over to you to set this month's theme.
