In a bid to gather as many entries as possible I'm going set a very open topic:

Your Best Shot

Any subject or style of photography you like shot on any camera, but I want you to show me the best photo you think you've ever taken.

Good luck!

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please do get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.

The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.

You can only submit one, and only one photo.

The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.

Entries and discussion on this single thread please.

All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.

Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Great topic, this should bring out some crackers.
I hope so, I just hope I haven't made judging it too difficult for me! lol

Last call for entries! I genuinely thought this would see loads of entries as everyone has a photo that they think is their best, I know I've got a few (depending on what day of the week it is! lol)

That was hard! Quality over quantity but I'll take that lol.

First off to honourable mentions to everyone that didn't win, each of your photos was excellent and each was studied carefully before deciding on the top three. clapclapclap

In the traditional reverse order the top three are:

3rd Place

I've seen a lot of kingfisher photos over the years and this ranks right up there, the composition and the detail truly make this one stand out. Excellent job Glynn, over to you for September - good luck!
