i'd like the shots to have been taken this year if not this month. post as often as you like in this thread. official entry thread to follow.

deadline is midnight on the 25th of MAY am working away for a week from the 26th. early finish so as not to eat into next month.

edit to add: can we please keep image sizes to no greater than 750 pixels in either length or breadth at 72 dpi. thank you!

can edit and add rules? all entered images have to be no greater than 720 wide at 72 dpi!

thought i give you my take on the five definitions i listed at the start of the thread, just for fun.

i figured it'd be ok, as this is a discussion thread. if it is at all inappropriate i'll delete it without delay.

some very interesting pics so far, good to see some novices having the courage to have a crack and delivering. if you are sat on an image and are nervous about posting it, don't be shy.

a couple of oldies from me just for fun. the first one a fluke, the second a mixture of stealth, patience and silence - think diane fossy without the gorillas.

for me... without a context spot colour is nonsense. if it isn't making a statement why even use it? i'd be more interested in seeing the picture entered in full colour or full black and white...

fair enough it is your picture after all.

but it's used all too often to make silk purses.

i like your picture, maybe it is too fussy, maybe they aren't prominent enough, but i'd prefer that to a cheap trick.
photography is totally subjective and as photographers it's good to follow our hearts and guts. that is hopefully what is making us push the button when we do.
i'm giving you my opinion for your thought is all.

i have used it in the past too - but it had a meaning rather than it being a device...
