If it isn't one thing its another... Having replaced my water pump (sheared nut in engine trauma, hose disintregration drama) I took the s3 for a quick test run and would you adam and eve it the radiator blew out... nuts :-( So I need either a new rad or my current rad recoring. Is there anyone near me in Newbury who can do it (I can get it off the car) that anyone knows of? If I have to get it recored locally, what core will I need to ask for? Thanks again, -- Mark

There's a serck in reading that will sort it for me once I manage to get it to them, it looked a bit too precarious balanced on the back of my motorbike ;-) Thanks, -- Mark

180 quid incl vat from serck for a very nicely finished radiator. Thing steamed a bit when new but I guess that's because it only been painted yesterday (same thing happened with my last car's rad). When I took it all apart I found that the s3 had no thermostat! No it has one it gets up to temperature well and then seems to bounce between 88 and 92 on the gauge. While this is keeping the engine temp in the right range all the time it does look a bit alarming. I suppose the gauge must be pretty sensitive. I guess I'll get used to it in the end. Cheers, -- Mark
