As you may (or may not!) know the 2012 S Club Euro Tour visited the Spa Classic. In 2013 the TVRCC will be making it a big event for the club. Several people from this forum have already mentioned going back so I have emailed those that went this year to see who's up for it.

So far Han, PompeyTim, Maffe & Dave M have said they will be there (although Dave may be in his Cerb) and some of the ex S owners from this year's trip (Mr Plow, Gozzy & Clive F) have also confirmed they'll be attending.

It'll be great to see some more S's in amongst the newer models that normally attend these events wink

Cheers,
L'rs

Just in case anyone else has the same question someone has just sent to me by email... no, the Spa Classic is not the 2013 S Club Euro Tour. I'm hoping to finalise plans for that in the next 6-8 weeks. It will be a return to a driving based tour, rather than being centered around a race meeting, likely to be mid July somewhere on the other side of The Channel and following the usual format of 4 nights / 5 days. I'll start a forum topic to see who is interested in due course wink

To answer another question... I'll not be doing the extra bit through the Ardennes in 2013 but heading straight to Spa on the Friday / returning Monday. This will make sure I have enough holiday to do the S Tour as well smile

is this for club members only ?
No
Correct, there will be 2 parking/display areas available in the Clubs Enslosure - 1 dedicated to TVRs and 1 for other makes/models. Plus there will be the regular "external" parking for cars which do not qualify for the Clus area.

...and not the Club Website wink
Not yet, but it will be soon now that the final prices have been confirmed and the TVRCC office have all the info they need wink

50+ cars already booked biggrin

Just out of interest, and I'm sure the answer is probably a "no, not really", but is there a particular "pace" that drivers generally keep to when driving to the events? I mean I am assuming that there's a loose "convoy" scenario that's played out allbeit with no hard and fast rules, but that's just a guess...

Presumably some guys will shoot off and enjoy the speed, others will pootle along enjoying the scenery and some will be in the middle - is that a correct assumption?
Yep, that's a fair assumption smile

The tours are informal but there are a couple of guidelines (no need for strict rules, everyone is very sensible) such as:
- don't push someone to go faster than they are comfortable with / if you have someone behind you who wants to get passed let them go
- keeping the car behind you in view rather than trying to keep up with the car in front helps to try and keep the group together especially if the car behind you only has one occupant without a satnav
- etc

After a few miles on day 1 it's easy to see who is happy at what speed and smaller groups form - with 31 cars on this years tour there was no way we were all going to keep together all of the time.

Personally I simply want a nice quiet drive on some great roads. But, no matter how fast I go to try and lose someone, certain people always seem to keep up with me driving You know who you are! hehe

I'll be crossing the channel on Thursday evening and staying in Calais. On Friday our group of 2 S's, a chimaera, a cerbera, a Boxster and a VX220 will be having a 4-5 hour scenic blat to Spa where we'll meet up with a couple of other S owners from this forum along with a whole load of other cars coming from the UK France, Belgium, Holland, Germany... and Denmark!

there are 2 sags, a lotus, and a chim staying in Calais Wednesday night, anyone else ding the same?
would be good for a convoy down to Chimay for lunch, then on to Ardennes hotel.
I assume the other Sag & the Lotus you referred to are Tony & his son? If yes the Lotus has been replaced by one of these http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=161&i=275...

The others that I know of staying in Calais on Wednesday are Gozzy in a T350 and a mate of his in a Westfield. A couple of additional cars will also be there but I don't know their owners or what cars they're in.

There should be 24 of you at Corbion on the Thursday night driving

Do you mean you put the sticker on or put the roof up Han? The forecast seems to be getting worse - when I checked earlier it was sleet for Friday but now it's changed to moderate to heavy snow and thunder yikes

I was going to wash my car. I don't think I'll bother now but will use the time to add some more water sealant to the roof wink

Assuming the forecast does turn out this bad, what's good tips to pack.
I don't mean a raincoat and hat,I mean any extra good tips people have used before ?
I have been to many events in the UK where it was wet, any good thoughts for this particular venue ?
There is to of us me and my 18 year old son and we are staying in a hotel and taking the Tuscan.
What essential may I have not thought of.

I have not packed sun cream and visor!
Rain X on the inside of your windscreen so you don't mist up. Other than that as long as you are warm and dry you'll be fine.

The grandstands are open so you can shelter there if necessary.

But let's be positive, whatever happens it cannot be any wetter than the 2011 Nurburgring Oldtimer GP wink
