People,

Decided to take the S2 for a service (it's overdue). Will be using a respected local mechanic (car enthusiast) who does an excellent job at reasonable rates, but has little TVR experience. He was very confident about the job (being mainly Ford based) but I figured he might potentially miss some areas that need checking.

Was wondering if you guys can come up with any 'non standard' service stuff that is worth pointing out to him?

Ta very much

Pete

Steve:

It was my intention to lend him the bible for the service. I also have a TVR schedule in the history folder so will pass this over also, albeit there are a lot of non-essential (as I see it) things not worth paying for the mechanic to do.....like checking the rear view mirror and door locks for efficient operation!

The mechanic in question is very competent, so I'm not too concerned about things. He has a lot of experience with Ford V6 and V8's in American muscle car clothing. He has also been trusted to restore a very nice looking Porsche by someone else. Plus he's worked on my cars before....

Cheers for the contact info, but since the Tiv has been booked in for the last week or so, I won't be able to try your man this time. You're right about dealer stamps though....complete waste of time and money for a car of this age and mileage IMO....but I guess essential if you have a shiny new one!

Edited by me cause I can't spell Keiran.....
