Adjusting S3 Window Frame
Discussion
Dear PH's
My near side window (S3 Y1991) moved slowly and finally got stuck. I replaced the rubbers in the channels and doing that I removed the motor which seems to be working fine, as well as switch and connector and door mechanism. I also removed the front channel, mechanism and window for this job and wish I didn't
Now with all put back, when trying to move the window manually with only the motor removed, I found that the window still moves too heavy in its new rubbers, and it seems that it runs against the second leg of the A frame where it bolts to the door. I do not see how I can solve this as the inner door thingy to which it is bolted seems to pushes it against the window. I would rather bolt it to the outside of the cavity, but then the door panel will not fit I presume.
Any of you guys have experience with this adjustment? After fettling a whole afternoon, could not make it work. Thank you in advance!!
