Dear all,

I have planned to upgrade my seats on the S3 for some time. I would like seats with more lateral sopport.

Now I found a good pair of Cayman/Boxter (2012) seats.

Does anybody here know if they would fit in an S3?

I think I can sort out the electronics so that is not a worry at this point. 😃

Kind regards

How about height? Will they hit the targa bow?

Yea, you are right. I will take out the passenger seat and go there. It's about 1,5 hours dull driving one way and wanted to enquire if someone tried before taking the plunge.

I'm just lazy I guess 😉

The Cayman seats are full leather and look real good. Electronics need to be sorted thoug.

The alternative would be Miata seats I guess.

Thank you

Thank you for input for all input.

These turned out to be all manual. Grest news.

I'm going there to take a look on Friday to see if they fit. These were like new. Not cheap but quality is well beyond any TVR stuff.

My S3 is supercharged and with a 4.27 LSD diff so weight is probably not really a problem... :-) , except maybe on the track. :-(

Kind regards

Indeed, buzzit if you could be ever so kind to measure your seats it would be brilliant. Thank you.

The ones I found are "light weight" , they are all manual except for the back tilt. They also have a light weight rear shell, looks like carbon fiber. They are from a 2012 Cayman.

I sure hope they fit.

Damian, I see about 230 RW bhp and 450 RW Nm. The engine does have som other upgrades also like cam, ECU, ignition, porting and a few other things. Still she spinns like a kitten when used for casual driving.

She run's on 18's so I do make use of first gear. I will post some more info here next week. I has been a long relationship....

The 4.27 LSD rear end was the best investment so far.

Brilliant. Thank you!

They look very similar to the ones I found. Too bad that they may turn out to be too wide as per Magpipes post.

I'm back home tomorror so I can go to the garage and take a closer look before driving off to the seller.

I would love for them to fit.

I will revert with more info on Friday.

Hi,

I checked for size in my S3 today and the 520mm width is probably fine as the widest part is in the front and so are the original seats. The rear side seems to be narrower from the picture and that is more important.

-And I don't need the height adjuster lever so that can gain about an inch.

The shock was that the height of 1000mm does not fit under the targa bow. When I measure I get a max of maybe 97-98 cm below the targa bow and the lids. The 1000mm was quoted by BuzzIt in the lowest position so that is a definite no go.

To bad !!

Or am I missing something?

Kind regards

Hi BuzzIt,

I have passed on them so far.

I may take the car up there and try in reality. I will be a close call in height.

They are like new but NOT cheap. They are asking £1300 for the pair.

But they look real nice!!

Kind regards

Hi,

Thank you for all input.

Lowering the floor seems like a rather drastic thing to attempt... Or maybe that is just another way of saying that I'm not good enough with GRP work to dare to try... Has anyone done this?

It would at least move the lowest point of the car from the exhaust to my rear end….

Tuscan seats look real comfortable but a bit “modern” for the older style S-series in my opinion. They look more at home in a Chimera and the newer cars.

Would the Cerbera seats fit?

How about the newer T350 or Tamora seats, would they fit?

Maybe I just have to try to find a pair of worn Chimera seats and ask the local “upholstery man” to add some lateral support and redo them.

My S3 is Grey interior and I always wanted a Tan or Cognac interior so maybe it is time to change over. However, my car is in pretty decent condition so it does not need any of it, so for now she stays Grey. The cost for ripping out the entire interior including the carpets just to change colour does not make sense at this point. And it does not improve speed or handling  .

I’m not UK based, but who in the UK is breaking TVR’s? Or were do one find used TVR seats?

All input much appreciated

Kind regards
