SCH 2018 will be held at Bywell in Northumbria on Sunday 1st July 2018
The main show will be organised by the MG Owners Club and they have graciously invited us along to share in what promises to be a great day out for all.
We have secured a large enough plot to accommodate not just our S Series cars, but also any other TVR model that the owner wishes to bring along.
Hopefully this will be the biggest and best SCH for many years!

We have also added on extra days to give us the chance to enjoy the local attractions, go for a scenic drive on some excellent roads, and a group visit to explore the famous Beamish Living Museum, an amazing place that will enthrall you.
You can choose to partake in as much or as little as you wish.
Durham is a beautiful city to visit if you've never been, and Holy Island is not too far away.

Main details of our event are here:

http://forum.tvr-car-club.co.uk/topic46615_post428...

I recommend that you book accommodation ASAP, as places fill up pretty early in this prime tourist region. See the link for recommendations.

When you have secured your hotel/ camping pitch/ park bench, add your name to the list below.

Good luck!

The organisers:
Glenrobbo, Alan461 & Magpies.

Our campsite is at Bobby Shafto Caravan & Camping Park, which is very close to Beamish Museum

As well as camping pitches, they also have static caravans available for rent ( if you're quick! ) and also touring pitches available, some with electric hook-up.

http://www.bobbyshaftocaravanpark.co.uk/caravannin...

e: info@bobbyshaftocaravanpark.co.uk

When booking, mention you are a TVR owner and they will try to allocate you to our separate camping area.

Don't delay or dither, darn well do it! thumbup

Oh, and they tell me that there is a good clubhouse on site*.... beer

Dunno why you wouldn't want to be a TVRCC member, Dave, it's not that expensive and there are many benefits!
But the main details are here on PH on the TVR Events & Meetings forum:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

HTH and hope to see you sometime at this great big fun event.

More details will be announced nearer the time when things are finalised.

Joe and I have booked a caravan between us, they would only do Monday to Thursday or Friday to Sunday bookings. may be able to add the Thursday on if they still have vacancies much nearer the time. failing that it'll be a Travel Lodge or similar, hopefully near by, for the Thursday night
Mike, that could be a risky strategy, you could easily end up with no accomodation on that night.
I would recommend booking a room at the Premier Inn in nearby Washinton ( on Emerson Road ) for the Thursday night. If you opt for the free cancellation deal, it will cost you nothing in the event of the caravan becoming available closer to the time.
As I have said, places get fully booked very early on for the tourist season.

Does everyone have to book accommodation as I live pretty local and wouldn't need it?
Of course there's no need to book accomodation if you live locally. smile

It's just if you're travelling a long way and need somewhere to stay, because accomodation in the area is hard to find if you leave it too late.

Hi everyone,

For those wishing to attend our group visit:

Discounted admission vouchers for our visit to Beamish Museum on Saturday 30th June are now available by contacting the TVRCC Office. These will be on sale until Thursday 14th June, and you will need to exchange them for Day Entry tickets with our TVR Steward ( probably me bowtie ) in our allocated car park display area on arrival from 09:00 to 10:00 hrs.
Refreshment vouchers are similarly available at £6.00 each.

Advance purchase is recommended to avoid the longer entry queues on what will be a very busy day for Beamish, as they are running their special "Old King Coal" exhibition on that weekend.

It is important that you arrive early on the day, as our space will only be held until the rest of the car park tiers are full, whereupon Tier 7 East will be opened up to Joe Public.

Plus I would like to have a look around the Museum rather than sit alone in the car park, waiting for latecomers to claim their entry tickets. I thank you. smile

shout ATTENTION EVERYBODY!

BYWELL SHOW
Entry is free to displaying classic and sports cars, and their drivers and passengers but you will need an entry pass from me.
I will require your contact details, car make, model, year and registration number at least two weeks prior to the event. I have to submit the list to the Show organisers, who will issue the passes to me for distribution amongst our TVR group PRIOR to the Show. Passes will have to be shown at the entry gate.

Entry for the public is £10 for adults, U16's free.

I am proposing that we give a voluntary donation of a fiver per car to go towards our chosen S Club charity this year. This is still to be decided. Sensible suggestions welcome.

So you may start PMing me your details for the Sunday Bywell Show entry passes,

BEAMISH VISIT
If you want to attend Beamish Museum on the Saturday, you need to purchase your e-voucher from Alison at the TVRCC Office. Available during office hours from now until Thursday 14th June. Note that these discount tickets are valid for one day only ( Sat 30th June ).
If you wish to buy a multi-visit ticket, you will have to buy one from the Beamish ticket office.
Beamish refreshment e-vouchers are also available at £6 each

Edit: Please could some kind souls post these details on their relevant Facebook page/forum/ thingy/ whatever?
