Help please anyone.

I have only just got my first TVR which is an S2 fitted with a GT imobilizer which I think is the cause of it not starting from cold, can anyone give me instructions on how to bypass second stage of this.

It will turn over when imobilizer is set but no spark, it played up before, that time disconnected bat and reconnected and it worked this time no luck at all.

Any help would be a god send

Barry and Philpot,

Thank you both for your replies, yes it is aftermarket and has been fitted well so will have a look into it and see where the leads go, I found the main box for it the other day with a nice load of spaghetti coming out of one end and yes Mr Philpot all black oh what fun.

So I can just trace them back to where they enter loom an just cut them off then?

And think I will book in with the osteopath now lol

Barry,

Thats not a bad idea as the fuel pump and start motor are working, so most likely the coil ones need disconnecting.

Thank you so much for your help, starting to see a way through this now.

Well immobiliser taken out not to bad a job to do, but alas still no spark, so I am now well and truly stumped.

Thank you all so much for your help!!

Got the little minx started Yippy, so nice to hear that noise.

Not sure but think it had something to do with the wiring to two sensors at the front of engine (on inlet manifold near side), not sure what they are as can't find them in bible or haynes. Anyone know what they are? Just nice to get to know the old girl.

At least my wiring skills are up to removing the immobiliser which is a good think as that was playing up anyway.

Next thing to sort is when rev'd she is slow to come back down to tick over, could this be the tick over valve on front of pendulum ? And how do I clean or repair it??

Hey get me I'm learning fast.

And thank you all so much, really is a great help.

Mr Phillpot,

Well at least I know what they are now, it was the small one I think, now you have said it is unlikely to be this I am going to go through car on next nice day and have a good look around. At the same time see how she starts.

No yellow connecter block on ignition, wires are soldered direct to ignition switch, although this seems to have been recently done judging by the solder on carpet, I know it failed on headlights for MOT.

Will do earth strap for battery to bottom of swirl pot.
