Picked up my S3 from mechanic today, hopefully that will be the end of my Starter Motor woes. However, when I got in the car, clutch pedal felt lighter than usual, and couldn't engage 1st gear, so car went straight back on the ramp for clutch bleeding.
There was definitely some air in the system, which was a surprise, as Slave cylinder was replaced a couple of thousand miles ago, and at the same time, master cylinder had a refurb kit installed.

Has anyone else had this, and is it a sign of pending failure? My mechanic played it down, but I struggle to see how air can get into a 'healthy' system?
I guess time will tell!

Mike, is that a straight swap, ie. will my copper pipe screw straight into that part without any adapter?
I can recall lot's of chat on here about alternative set ups, but fairly sure mine is the original.

Just planning ahead incase of repeat failure!

Why not replace the copper with stainless braided while you're at it? You can check the fittings at each end before you make up the hose.
V8S4me, if I had any idea what connectors to ask for at each end of the braided hose, I probably would do!? They are just connectors to me, so no idea what thread, or size to ask for.....

As it turns out, I will definitely have to sort it asap, as I went to take it for a test drive this morning, and clutch was soft. Definitely air in system again, so Master cylinder and hose need swapping out.

I'll give the company identified above (Powertrack) a call this week.

Quick question for those of you who have messed with the clutch/brake hydraulics, is the pipe nut half inch?

I am assuming so as 12mm doesn't fit and 13mm is loose.

Thanks

Cheers Mike. I have ordered a flare spanner off tinternet, as nut already looks like a previous owner has attempted to tighten it with a 13mm!
