Hi all , last month of my furlough so thought I would get a bit of S work done .
Dash is back out for heater control and console switches LED fitment and also some wiring mods to make dash /console removal / refit easier.
Have decided to discard the original steering column , ignition yellow connector even though it shows no arcing or burning etc .
Does anyone have any ideas on a good connector to replace it , let me make it clear I DON'T want to solder the wires permanently or use a choc block , I want a proper connector .
I've been looking at the Delphi / Aptiv metri pack 630 series which are rated at 46A and they look pretty good but only seem to go up to 5.0mm2 xsection cable fit on the terminals and the ignition wiring is 5.0mm overall diameter.
Anyone got any good ideas ? Cheers all.

Hi Mike , it's been a nightmare trying to work out what I need , does anyone know what cable size is fitted to the ignition system at the plug and what plug and contacts will fit ?
I know you have a choc block and it works fine but I really want to fit a plug here.
Yes it works out around 4.5mm xsection I think .

Hi chaps , yes I'd seen the Anderson connectors but they're pretty big and cumbersome . I know they're 50A rated but they are maybe a bit excessive .
Been in touch with a supplier to see if he can do the Delphi ones with the larger terminals . I'll let you know if I have any joy .
Meanwhile if anyone has any other ideas solutions please let me know , much appreciated.

Hi chaps , thanks for the replies / ideas , after a lot of messing about , I've found a place that will do me the Delphi metri pack connectors , 46A rated, with the 4.5mm2 terminals , (everywhere else only supplied 3mm2 terminals ). He ordered the terminals for me as a special order with his supplier. All in £22 delivered which I'm happy with .
Once I get them I'll post a couple of pictures , of prior and post fitment.
