It is with great sadness that I have to report the untimely passing of my bro-in-Law and dearest friend BarryS1, at the age of just 60.

He was diagnosed with cancer last year, and was undergoing chemotherapy as a day patient for a few months, but was taken ill about 10 days ago, and had been in hospital since then. Last Sunday, his condition deteriorated quite suddenly, and a planned operation had to be postponed.
Shortly before midnight last night, he passed away peacefully in his sleep, with his beloved wife, his daughter and son-in-law, and his brother Trev4 at his bedside.
Sadly Barry never got to hold his newborn baby Grandson who was born just 11 days ago, on 14th of May, in lockdown in Turkey.

Such joy and sadness intertwined.

Barry was one of the nicest fellows I have ever met, his kindness knew no bounds, and he was a very keen S owner and enthusiast since purchasing 'F*** THT' in 2009, and more recently his S2 'G- ARV' which he sold very recently to tom355uk from "near Brum".

Barry was a regular participant in Longers ever-popular S Club Eurotours, and also attended most S Club events and meets.
He thought nothing of driving 150-odd miles from Essex for breakfast at the Touchdown Cafe, Wellesbourne and then taking one of his famous "shortcuts back home" via a more scenic route! driving

A popular guy, he will be sadly missed by his family, the TVR S community and all who knew him.

Farewell Barry, God Speed, and safe journey!

I will announce details of his funeral in due course when they are available, but attendance at the ceremony is limited to 30 people.
However, the number of cars allowed is a different matter...

Update:
Barry's funeral is to be held at 12:30pm on Thursday 17th June, at Three Counties Crematorium, Halstead Road, High Garrett, Braintree, Essex, CM7 5PB.
Under present restrictions, the numbers inside for the Memorial Ceremony is limited to just 37 family members and close friends, but the car park is quite large with parking spaces for up up to 100 cars.

Afterwards a small gathering limited to 30 people inside will be held at The Apple Tree at Gosfield Lake, Church Road, Gosfield, Nr Halstead, Essex, CO9 1UD.
There may be further numbers allowed to attend outside, weather permitting.
I am currently awaiting clarification regarding car parking and charges, if any, at this venue.

The S posse did us proud, keeping up with Barry in his 6.7 litre turbocharged monster limo.
