My bonnets off my S3 at the mo, and I've just had a thought (oh dear...)

Has anyone tried to fit a gas strut to the bonnet to replace the standard bonnet stay?

I suppose it may cause a problem possibly with the low ride hight on uneven ground etc and not having the choice of the standard bonnet stay positions .

But just a thought - anyone already done this?

Cheers,

Dave.

I see what you mean Peter, but I was only thinking about ease of the lift of the bonnet, and also if youre working the O/S of the engine and knock the standard bonnet strut - the bonnet has a habbit of falling on you

Cheers,
Dave.

Yes, good point made by Lee - expensive to fix as well as very dangerous.

Hmm.. may go for the tie wrap option Peter

Cheers,

Dave.
