Right any ideas, the car started running rough yesterday, idle speed was low, engine braking was increased, park it up then tried to start a few minutes later and it wouldn’t go, hot or cold it will only start by pushing the throttle to the floor then lifting back up as it get half way up it fires.

Needed to use it tomorrow.

Throttle pot !

Car's thinking your on full throttle and therefor you are having to open the butterflies fully to get enough air into the system to stop the overfueling.

If you disconnect the thottle pot then it apparently goes onto limp home mode and usable again. I have run mine like this for a couple of days when I couldn't get another throttle pot.

Cheers

I've mentioned this before but it is worth reiterating. I now run with one form the Cerberra S6 and have not had any trouble with it at all. The previous replacements lasted anything between 24hrs and 3 months.

Not being patronising here Paul as I think we have discussed this previously. Has the wiring on your car been revised to accept the later type Pot's ??

Cheers

Yeah it was replaced by a garage 3 days after I got the car so has the wiring upgrade, I will look into the S6 pot but just want to try to get it running, if I replace it later I can always keep this one I’m getting as a spare.

How easy are they to fit?

What were you in on Saturday?

I was in mine but it is filthy minging dirty and is hardly recognisable at the moment. I only caught a glance at you briefly and thought it was probably you.

I'd just finished work, it was about 3.30ish I reckon.
