I just wanted to thank those who responded to my question "What new car?" but can't find the topic...!

I did try to find the Maserati dealer in Newcastle, as I did love the looks and highly recommended by a lot on here, but gave up; people put me off the Lotus Evora that looked great. Test drove one or two - but it needed to be a four seater sporty car so there weren't many that I found interesting enough. Thought the Nissan GTR looked very butch, tried the Lexus RCF V8 - lovely car, Jaguar XKR V8 - lovely car, BMW - boring, Porsche 911 Carrera - very heavy steering. All automatics. But when I tried the Mercedes I was blown away with how smooth the drive was and the acceleration is heart stopping...

So I have ended up with a one year old Mercedes C63 AMG - 6.3 litre V8 engine 507 bhp. It has not only 'comfort drive' but Sports, Sports plus, Manual and Racing Start..! Paddles are great, Sports Plus blows your socks off but I haven't tried the Racing Start yet, I'm saving that for Croft. And don't laugh, but I did fill up three times in one week....

Found via your profile.

I love AMG Mercedes. Congrats

Thanks Dave but it's very strange that it doesn't show up when I look at my profile etc as everything previous has been wiped off....

It's interesting to see that someone had suggested the C63 AMG when I look back over the comments. It's the 2014 model but they don't make the 6.3 litre V8 now thanks to Europe, they've had to cut it down for emissions.

Every time I go out for a run in it, I spend the next 14 days watching the letterbox...!! Just fabulous to drive.

It's 6.208 and there's no way I'd touch the engine it just does not need it - in Sports plus it plants you in the seat god knows what the racing start will do...

It's cost me £650 to have a crystal serum added to it - now I've got to buy a Karcher and snow foam as I daren't take it to the hand wash...!

Haha yes it probably doesn't do it much good... But saving that for when I take it round Croft next year.

Not used to rear wheel drive (or automatic) so can't decide whether to go for winter tyres. Apparently it needs to come down from the 19" tyres to 18" so it would need the alloys as well. Haven't priced them up yet - too frightened to look...!
