I will have to try and convince her that a top down run is a good idea, with a bunch of people I've only met a few times.

Doesn't look good.
Why not. You don't need to say PH things to her. Just say "come and meet a few of my mates. We're going out for lunch".

Arr well Tom the A171 isn't on our plan. I see it as a fabulous road but I'm also conscious of the boy racer and born again biker brigade. They really spoil the A171 by driving beyond their ability. There is one famous moors road on our plan. The B1257 is used as a race track by the born again bikers. They keep you on your toes.

Hey Bob I hope you've booked the weather in advance with the guy in the sky.....
Whey eye man. Snow will be gone. I'm up for this come rain or shine. I guess we may need to be tolerant of those wishing to put their roofs on. As long as we get a good turnout, which it looks like we will, then this should be a fine affair.

I'm updating the ealier post to show those who have confirmed.

I believe WildfireS3 is bringing a DV. I will have a micro DV (web cam type). With its memory card it'll be good for 45mins or so but the resolution and refresh speed is low. I also have a 'proper' SLR digital camera and I'm sure to catch a few compromising images with that.

Perhaps we need to develop the concept of 'stefan stones'. Places along the way where we stop to let people catch up. I'll think on this one.

I might be able to keep up with your vectra mates Bob

I think you'll do fine. Just gain confidence as you go along. Open country roads are excellent for that. Be prepared to have a go and it'll come good soon enough. We'll be pushing it on some stretches and coasting on others so just try to stay with us. We're not going to leave you behind but we will want to play. If you're trying well that's all we can ask.

Mamiya TLR!! That's a name I haven't heard for a long time. I would imagine they're quite complex to operate.

OK I've been out today getting a feel for this run. All looks good and I've identified 'Stefan Stones'. I have made a small change to the middle and final bits so that we can spend more time on interesting roads. I'll update the post above to show the changes.

I have a map with directions etc. on and route pace notes. Stefan is going to host these for us nearer the time.

Dear All
.......and I am up for fun....

......I have some things that may influence your decision as to whether you want to absorb me into your group.....

As Minimax has said you very welcome and I for one hope you can come along on 15th Feb. We are in dire need of some non-TVR owners, especially those with interesting motors like yours.

The day is organised to fit in with all levels of driving ability and age for that matter.

Please please come along. You will need to let me know how many so that I can book seats at the Lion Inn. Why not bring the car and the bike. That way hubby can feel included.

...Is this event going to get a catchy name at all?
Run To The Ridge (sung in a Maiden style), Ridge Run, or how about TWATS Day Out?.....
Run to the Ridge sounds good. If it works well I was hoping to run it another couple of time over the year. Probably same pub with a variation on the roads.

West sounds good. We may hook some of the Yorkshire lot if we get a little further inland. We could have a Yorks/North East Blatt

Yep. Travelling north the lay-by is north bound on the A67 just before the airport roundabout.

why?
I can bring a rover 216 instead of the Chimaera if it helps....

10:15ish Durham Services sounds fine.
Mick, I've had a comment from someone who would like to come along but feels like an outsider because of the number of TVR's. I'm not trying to have less TVR's. I'm trying to encouage non-TVR PHers to join us. Please come in the Chimaera.
