Any preference on Nottingham as a venue? rafdug is more over Stafford way, quite a few more nearer Leicester, and a few of us are Derby way. How about Mumbai Blue on the A38 midway between derby and Burton upon Trent? Only problem is what to do before and after? Maybe Nottingham is best after all.
The only places I know in Derby are out of the city, and Derby city centre itself is awfull, best avoided.

No difference if coming from the south, anyway, Nottingham and Derby are so close, they may as well be suburbs of the same place. Just the A52 linking them together. Best stick with Notnum.

EmmaP, we had better get tables for two dozen booked at anywhere that will take us. Who's making the booking?

They keep moving it

Found this on the Google,

City Spice.
The best curry house in Nottingham, which aims to give you 'a superior dining experience'. Has a wide range of dishes, including vegetarian, from mild to very hot. Some dishes are unique to this restaurant. Really friendly staff, free rice top-ups, and a great dining experience. Has a bar area too, and isn't very expensive. They now do a take away and dilevery service. Can be found on road directly opposite left side entrance to Hogshead bar, up from Market Square.

4550 Miles from Delhi.
A modern and stylish Indian restaurant. Not cheap, at around £7-13 for a main course without rice or naan, but you get huge portions. From my visits it seems that you are treated much better if you book rather than just walk in, and try not to be seated downstairs. Also has a small trendy bar. A lambda was once seen scrawled in the toilets, so it is theoretically friendly. On Maid Marian Way.

Mem Saab.
A modern and sophisticated Indian restaurant which serves traditional and regional Indian cuisines in a stylish enviroment. Attentive staff and an intimate eating atmosphere, Mem Saab offer special menus for particular times in the Indian calender. The food is just that little bit different, you get plenty to eat and it's reasonably priced for a stylish Nottingham eaterie. Also cater for groups, but its best to book. Can be found on Maid Marian Way.

I may stay over and have a few drinks too, just checked out the Plaza, £100 a room. I reckon we could get a better price for a block booking. The Royal did a bunch of us £40 a room last year as a last minute job.

I think that Rods, Balmoral Green and Mods500 are at the Plaza. Rafdug is at the Strathdon. Not sure about anyone else.
I havent booked yet, but will probably go for the cheaper option, The Strathdon, it is only a few minutes walk up the road from Maid Marion Way.

How much is the Plaza?
