Following on from Balmoral Green's 'Drive and Lunch' thread, I was wondering if people would like to put their names down for a Sunday run after our Saturday Thai Night on 2nd April. Any thoughts on a suitable destination would be good at this stage. I personally love driving in the Peaks. I know of a very good pub too - Holmes Cottage, nr. Whatstandwell (I think.)

Sorry to sound like an absolute bore, but this was supposed to be a Sunday run out. It'll take me less than half an hour to get to Donnington, so not much fun there then. Shall we arrange a run out and lunch for another Sunday?

But I just want to drive my new baby. I guess I'll just have to go to Buxton for a pint of milk on the Sunday.

Just take the long way to Donington ...

M1 J26, head north, join A1M.

Turn off for Masham. Visit one of the breweries and stock up.

Back on a cross-country route to Leeds. Now running late so back on the M1 and a quick blast to J24 then on to Donington Park where a number of thirsty gentlemen will be waiting relieve the pressure on your Corrado's springs (from the beer of course).

What a top idea!

Well come for a blast out to Cheshire & North/Mid Wales, can find plenty of nice roads to enjoy and leave them to their racing!!!

Regards
Iain

Ooh! I could be sorely tempted!

Emma,
Sorry if I diverted this thread but I'd have been up for it if it wasn't the GT weekend.
Hope this doesn't mean your mad at me and don't want to take any pics of the car. It has gone in for the respray so we should get it back in approx 4 weeks or so.

Mad? Boy, I am fuming! That's ok. I shall look forward to seeing and photographing the Griff in all its re-sprayed splendour.

Hey Dougie! Looks like it might only be us two out on the run if the racing goes ahead. Race ya!

Cheers gemini! I've just read the thread and I have to say that the chances of myself and Dougie getting to York for 11am are pretty remote. I didn't got to bed until nearly 4am after our last Midland's bash. Neither of us will be in a fit state to drive much before mid-day. Maybe next time. It would be great fun, I know.

Well, if you do end up at Donnie, come and say hello! I'm racing in the Ginetta Car number 2 (Blue with a yellow stripe). Not difficult to spot as I'm the only girlie amoung 44 blokes (not that I'm complaining )

Good luck with the race Racylady!

Emma, just an idea, why dont we have a run out on the Saturday, then the Thai in the evening, then the racing on the Sunday. A really intensive PH weekend, by the end of which, we will be sick of the sight of each other

Look mate, I'm sick of the sight of you already, but if you really do want a drive out on the Saturday... THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC!

Where and when? Got to be the Peaks really hasn't it? Got to be for at least half a day hasn't it? Got to be back for at least 5pm. Shall we lunch before or have a blast out to a suitable eatery, then hoon the rest of the afternoon away?

Well guys, it is only four days away now, so I guess we really should make some decisions. Are we going to go for a run out on the Saturday as Sunday is going to be set aside for the GT racing at Donnington?

We need to arrange a time and a place to meet too. How about midday? Time to get to somewhere in the sticks in time for lunch. Where shall we drive out to? The Dales? We need not be back in Nottingham until about 6pm. All thoughts and opinions gladly welcomed.

Sounds good to me Warren! Count me in for 12 midday meet. Shall we meet nearer Next/Decathlon as Ikea induces a nervous twitch in my right arm?

Which side of J26 is this place the Ripley side or the Nottingham side?
Emma if I haven't turned up by 12 text me as I is lost

5pm return sounds better. I have your mobile number still, so will navigate you in if you get lost Just follow the trail of eager looking shopping trolly drivers with death in their eyes.

By the way, that stretch of the A610, which used to be an NSL dual carriageway, and a very fast clear one at that, has now been reduced to 40mph.

You are chuffin' joking?! That is the maddest thing I've heard all year. Bastards! That used to be such a fine flat out stretch

Doing 80 in a 70 is fine, but 80 in a 40 is just kissing your licence goodbye. We will have to restrain ourselves until we get to the Peaks

I think that the route Warren has planned will not be taking us up the motorway. We will be going along the Nottingham to Matlock A road. I am sure that Warren, aka Balmoral Green, will be along shortly to confirm route. Glad you can join us
