I fancy getting out for some exercise, with fish and chips at the end of it.

Anywhere decent open for take away, Notts Leics way?

The best chipshop in the UK is in Notts. https://www.codsscallops.com/
Have you tried every single one of the Million chippies in the UK to qualify that statement?

Those awards are all rigged

(I was told that a chippy. No he hadn't won an award)
To be fair, The Cods Scallops is owned by John Molnar and he generally does things well. His pubs have been good and we had him cater an event for us, which he did well.

Guys, the rule is you don't travel to an award winning chippy.

You try the 3 or so nearest to your home, and the you go to one or two of them.

A meal being 10% better isn't worth the 'down the local' aspect.

Sidenote: My local chippy is a older lady, she asks me how the wife is every time I go in. I divorced the crazy bint a few years ago but haven't found the moment to tell the chippy lady so just nod shes fine biggrin It's awkward.
Our local chippy is horriffic. The chips taste burned yet are flacid, the fish as though it has been boiled before being wrapped in soggy batter. I would travel miles to avoid it.

There's a good one in Stamford but it is closed on Sundays.
