MoT for TVR in the Midlands
Discussion
Hi.....Does anyone know of somewhere TVR friendly (emissions mainly!) for getting a TVR Tuscan S MoT in the Midlands? My usual place has closed down, and I've had some bad experiences with others, including supposed TVR specialists. Can anyone recommend somewhere decent and trustworthy? Thanks!
Just make sure you take it for a seriously good blast up a motorway or some of your favourite roads before the test, especially if it’s been sitting around a lot over the last twelve months. It will struggle to get through the emissions test otherwise. My MOT place is always sympathetic to my larger bore cars and will allow them to warm up properly - not to mention revving the nuts off them.

Thanks. Yes I used to have it done in Melton when PPC we’re servicing it. I may try through James if nothing nearer.
Paul just took it somewhere else for MOT. I used National Tyres for mine for years. Got friendly with the guy & I was the "assistant". It's all down to the bloke on the day.

Yes, he used Withams next door from memory, I don’t have a relationship with them though, but can if I get desperate. Was hoping for something nearer. That was fine when there anyway for a Service but a trek for just an MoT. I’m near Ashby.I used National Tyres for mine for years. Got friendly with the guy & I was the "assistant". Thanks. No not law breaking. Simply someone that understands TVRs. I don’t want it left running on a ramp and overheating, for example. There must be stations that see more TVRs than me taking it to my local Kwik Fit.
Oh I see what you mean - just find a local, small MOT place. Explain it's a bit testing for emissions and can you book a slot and start with the test that way, warm it up properly before you arrive, bingo.Gassing Station | Midlands | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
