Anyone up for a bit of a 'Devon bash' sometime soon? Rather thought an evening run out with a refreshment stop might be fun.

Don't really know where or when yet, but just thought I'd see if there was any interest in doing something while the evenings are light.

There has to be something about to match your requirements Richard. There are nearly 50 Cerbs on PH classifieds.

I guess you would prefer to get something through our 'local' as then you are not too far away if anything is required under warranty!

Anyway, I'll get thinking about a possible evening run soon. If it were to be week night, which suits you guys best? Any definate no-no's?

So, trawling through my mental list of suitable driving roads I've concluded that I'd like to take in part of the B3227, say from South Molton to Bampton. If we perhaps made a meeting point somewhere around the Tiverton area, then I reckon a nice circular route from there could be achieved. What do we think chaps, 19:30 start - 2 hours driving - or is that too much?
I could put together 2 or 3 different length runs from the same start then get a general consensus when we meet.

Who knows of a good pub (with car park) around the Tiverton area where we could meet up/finish for a good beer (sorry, drivers - shandy!)

PS - event open to all PH'ers - not just Tivs.

Yeah, I realise it's a fair way for you to come Corin.

I'm ok any day next week, so we'll see what the others say. I get a forecast faxed from the Met Office every day here at work. The long range for next week shows:

Monday and Tuesday: Pressure will rise slowly from the west, and isolated showers will die out during Monday, with dry and sunny weather on Tuesday. Becoming hot and humid during Wednesday and Thursday, but with a risk of heavy thunderstorms moving north from the continent later on Thursday and into Friday.

Yup. Waterloo Cross is fine. Optimax available next door also!

I'll throw in my suggested routes later in the week for your comments.

Shall we provisionally make it Wednesday 7th then (pending forecast nearer the time?

Boks !

I'm stuck out here in Spain again and won't be back until next Thursday pm.

I'll keep my eye on the thread in-case it changes days.

Simon

ps Who's going to the Growl at the end of July?

Fear not if you can't make it Simon, I'm sure we'll have another one soon. In fact I'm all for having these 'mini-meets' on a more regular basis.... lets see how quickly I can exceed my insurance limited mileage!

Judging by the way the forecast is changing daily, for the worse, I would be inclined to go along with Garry and suggest we leave it open untill nearer the time.

If it turns out ok then we'll go with Wednesday, but if, as it would appear, the wet weather lingers on then it may be necessary to move it to Thursday (good for djburns and sgrimshaw).

Well review and have a headcount Tuesday maybe.

Hello.... (hello...hello...hello..echo!)!

It's all very quiet here on the South West Forum. Where is everyone?

Well chaps, as is usual with these things, the forecast is still changing. I'm not around much tomorrow, so you guys can chat amongst yourselves and decide if you want to have a meet up Wednesday night or not. I'll check in during the evening and see what's happening.

Lets hope for it to be dry, I need to

I might have to miss this one as my father went back into hospital on Thursday night and I didn't get a chance to sort my manifold out, so I either miss it or go up with a chuffing manifold?

Fair enough Corin. Sorry to hear about your father. Hope things are on the up soon!

Hey chaps. Managed to get onto a workstation....

Tonight (Tues) sounds good. Just looked at the forecast for tomorrow and it sounds awful. Lets get out there while the sun is still shining. I know everyone will not be able to make it, but will do another sometime soon.

Wyatt, Garry, shall we still say 19:30 at the Waterloo Cross pub?

Sorry to those that couldn't come for one reason or another. Weather was fine so had to jump at the opportunity really.

Open to suggestions for another evening run soon. All welcome!
