Hi

I am sorry if this has been discussed before but I wondered if there was anywhere in the Exeter area where you can meet up on a monthly basis for a coffee and a bacon sandwich and to have a chat about cars. Maybe a drive afterwards.

If not, would there be any interest in this? Any suggestions for a good venue?

The bikers have a regular meet on Paignton sea front on a Wednesday evening through out the summer, but I was thinking about a Sunday morning.

Would welcome your thoughts

Thanks for all the comments and I am glad it is not just me that would like somewhere to go on a Sunday morning for a coffee and a chat about cars.

I will start a search for the right venue and then post again.

This is a good shout. I will investigate as a potential venue.

Had a quick look at Powderham and although the car park is great etc they only serve full "Billy Bunter" breakfasts at around £8 to £9 each and not bacon rolls etc. Do we think this is an issue?

Also popped into the Route A38 cafe at Wrangaton Business Park which was formally a Royal Navy Vitalers Yard. It is a well priced cafe and has lots of parking on site. It is about equi-distance between Exeter and Plymouth just off the A38 atbout 800 yards from the Wrangaton junction.

Is there support for this Sunday and do you have a preference for either of the above?

Right, I have been down to Totnes today and there is a great cafe with a large car park right next door called the Riverside Cafe on Steamer Quay in the centre of the town. I hope this venue will be convenient for those coming from the Exeter, Plymouth or Torbay directions.

I appreciate that next weekend is Easter weekend, but with other events during the first couple of weeks of May I suggest a meet and coffee next Sunday to try out the venue. They do coffee, bacon sandwich's and a full Monty English breakfast, so I hope they will cater for all tastes.

I do not intend to organise a drive after so will leave that to those attending to sort out their own runs if they wish. Therefore, if you want to you can turn up, have a coffee and some bacon whilst talking cars, and then be back home by 11.00 for family duties !!

Yes. From 9.00am until 10.30am at the above cafe on the Steamer Quay in the centre of Totnes for coffee and bacon sandwiches and plenty of car talk. People can then arrange runs from there or disappear back home in time to go to Church !!

Let me know if you are able to attend so we can judge the likely attendance.
