Bristol Tunnel Run 2015

As there appears to be a fair bit of interest in another TR, I thought I'd start a new thread so it doesn't get lost in a 6yr old thread

I'll most likely change the route a bit compared to what we normally do, for a few reasons...
The idiot in red trousers and his 20mph could make trying to stay together through alot of Bristol difficult.
One of the tunnels now seems to have quite a few pedestrians who don't like cars!

I'll get out and about over the next weekend or 2 and finalise a route, so will most likely be in early September.

So, who's interested

I normally do. I've been arranging the Bristol ones for around 6yrs now after getting the bug from attending some of the LTRs. Unfortunately we don't have tunnels anywhere near as good as Londo, but we still have fun with what we have

I've not forgotten about this.
I'm heading out over the weekend to work out a new route, as it seems the idiot in red trousers has closed a few roads on our usual route.

It'll likely be either first or second weekend in September.

It looks like the 6th is the most popular date, so I'll give the pub a call and make sure we can finish up there. Once the small details are sorted I'll then confirm details.

Sunday 6th September - Confirmed

I've just been talking to the pub and they're more than happy for us to desend on them again

So...sticking as much as possible to what we know works. Meet in Staples at the bottom of the M32, aiming to leave there around 16:30, and then finishing at The Huntsman Inn in Falfield.

I've got an amended route planned and will be driving the route over the weekend just to double check for any road closures, timings etc.
I'll print out the route for everyone as usual, and if i can find the program i used to use for writing tomtom files I'll have one of those sorted before hand too.

For those who use Facebook, I've set up a closed group so we can talk openly about the run, without the local chavs and barryboys knowing all the details....

The route has now been checked ready for Sunday, so we're all systems go.

Does anyone actually need a tomtom file? I'll have printed copies of the route for everyone on the day.

Route directions have all been updated, just have to print them out ready for Sunday

Route instructions etc are now all printed, so we're all systems go no changes to the plan regarding start time etc, so still aiming to leave around 16:30.

Can we have a last show of keys to say who is planning to attend so i can try and make sure we have everyone before setting off (I've removed those who initially said no to the date, but if you can now make it please re-add yourselves).

Should be around 2-2.5hrs ish. All depending on traffic etc, so if you need to head off early for kiddy duty etc, not a problem

Apologies to the Porsche owner, i should have pre-warned you that for the last 3 Tunnel Runs a Porsche has broken down each time

Glad you all enjoyed it. Thankfully the weather held out for us too. If the weather decides to stay warmish then there may be a chance to squeeze in another run before people tuck away the play toys for the winter. If not we'll get one sorted for early next year
