Any local PHers fancy some karting?

See post below for details.

This kind of fell on its arse last time, but I'd still be up for organising something if anyone's interested. Apparently South West Karting at Haynes does an 'open grand prix' night for all comers. Might be worth a look.

How about the weekend of 20/21st October?

Or

10/11th November?

Let me know your preference on day and track. Both Mansell Raceway (Dunkeswell, near Honiton) and the Haynes Motor Museum track are open for arrive and drive sessions both days. We could just pick a session and pre-book individually so no one would have to transfer money or anything like that. Alternatively, happy to look into organising a group booking for a proper race format.

Provisional karting event taking place at Cheddar Indoor Track for my slot racing club on Wednesday 21st November, there may be some extra spaces if anyone is interested.
I could be tempted. Take it that's in the evening?

Consulted SWMBO and she's not working that evening so I'm good to go. biggrin

If you do have a spare place count me in.

Ah, well that simplifies that decision then! Haynes it is... Now when's everyone free? smile

When it is dry!

Trust me, i have driven Thruxton kart circuit (they hit 60mph) in the wet and it ruins a good day
hehe

Did wet karting on slicks last year on a stag do. It was a perfect example of why a welded (or totally absent) diff can be tricky - plough on understeer followed by the most hilarious levels of oversteer. Quite fun overall.

How about we pick an arrive and drive slot at Haynes one weekend in May and just see who turns up? smile

If this is still being considering I'm based 15minutes from Haynes so will come along
Definitely still being considered by me... smile

I think the chances of us getting a dozen people together to all book a PH grand prix on a particular day are minimal, but I'd certainly be up for picking a day that two or three of us are free for an arrive and drive session then just see who else turns up. ONly about half an hour away from Haynes, so it works for me.
