A32/A272 average speed cameras
Discussion
Looks like it’s going ahead. I also noted they have already installed a noise camera further along the A272 a while ago.

Asking for a friend, How many times do they need to spontaneously combust or have a small lead pellet pass through them before they will not bother reinstating them.
Many people bump their gums about this sort of heroism, but very few do anything. Anarchy in the U.K. etc etc.Bikeracer1098 said:
I went out on the bike this evening passing through West Farringdon towards Loomies in West Meon on the A32. Unfortunately was totally unaware of the average speed cameras until I left Loomies Cafe.
Riding back along the A32 only saw 3 cameras. Are there more ?
There was also a police officer with a hand held gun along the route. Stopped and asked him whether the cameras had been switched on. He was unsure, said sone were on but now all.

Did I hear correctly that a biker died on this road a few days ago near the West Meon Hut?
Further east on the A272 at Langrish on Weds. 25yr old motorcyclist died at the scene after an an incident with an HGV. Road is still closed 3 days later. Driver of the HGV has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving. Police wording of that side of the investigation very unusual. Mr Gary Holdsworth said:

So they take a short break and resume? How about the timings in between the cameras?
The cameras work by recording when a vehicle passes the first camera, and how long it takes to pass the second. So a vehicle can go passed the first camera as fast as it likes as long as they stop before the second and wait a while. The camera doesn't know it stopped, so thinks the vehicle has gone through the section within it's set limits. If all bikers chose to stop for a little rest within their favourite sections, they can pretty much I ignore the cameras. And it's likely that given the investment made in these cameras. The police are probably going to reduce their presents to leave the cameras too it. (Don't count on that though) BIRMA said:

Drove up the A32 yesterday and came across the speed cameras but didn’t take much notice until I turned onto the A272, has anyone been caught by the A32 cameras yet or am I likely to be the first? I wasn’t much over the limit but didn’t think about it until passing the second one.
I'm not sure, I wonder if the figures are available under Freedom of Information? I know our local MP has been trumpeting their success. As a local user of the A272 for a very long time I now just take the long way round so as to avoid the A272 and A32.
I expect with the opening of C&M at the old West Meon Hut site there may well be an increase in offenders.
