I had a look again at the house and it's address doesn't appear to be in the Lacey Green area. I am looking at Suffolk drive.
I don't believe that's in Lacey Green but very close to it. Correct?
What part was the council estate?

I used to live on Suffolk Drive! Had number 9 years ago. It’s a separate little culs-de-sac.
We all used to call it separation street as pretty much every house had relationships that fell apart.
Edit to add: Its actually a really nice little road, it’s a touch too far away from the Center if that’s your aim, sits in between Handforth and Wilmslow. No real local pubs you can just stroll too etc.

Small world! Again thanks for the positive info.
The main reason were moving is there seems to be a good selection of primary schools in the local area. Not to concerned about strolling into the pubs as I don't drink! But the town is less than a 15 mins walk meaning that we can walk to it for shopping, etc.
My main question is there is a train line that runs next to the cul-de-sac. I have done some research and it appears to get around 4 trains an hour. 2 are going between Wilmslow and Styal and 2 are other trains going direct to other stations. Also I have been told there can be a couple of freight trains an hour.
What was your experience with train noise? How often were the trains especially the freight?

Fair bit of crime in the area, but it's Manchester and a level of crime should be expected.

The line is a semi busy line and. does get freight down it. The house I had was the opposite side on the road so didn’t hear the trains that often, I’d imagine if it was one of the houses backing onto the line it’d be very noticeable though.
The centre is more a 25 min walk really FYI, something to consider really as it does sit bang in between the two main shopping locations - Handforth and Wilmslow. May not be a problem but over time became an annoyance for me.
Thanks. The noise is our main concern as the house is closer to the tracks. Looks like we will have to hear it ourselves.The line is a semi busy line and. does get freight down it. The house I had was the opposite side on the road so didn’t hear the trains that often, I’d imagine if it was one of the houses backing onto the line it’d be very noticeable though.

As someone mentioned earlier, the property isn't in Lacey Green. And ive barely escaped it,
I mean its alot of money considering parts of lacey green arent great, the back of the estate where the fields are towarsds the water trestment plant arent great, and is council
