Weather looks set to be good this weekend. Anyone planning a last drive out before we're all confined to our homes?

I might do an early Dales lap on Sunday.

I thought the same , wont have to go out too early as the roads are empty anyway. Could make a whole day of it....... cool

Had a run up to Blakey Ridge on Monday. Lovely dry quiet roads, few bikers and that’s it.

If there’s no absolute ‘don’t leave the house’ ban it could be rather pleasant for the automobile enthusiast in coming weeks.

Didn’t go near anybody and filled up using gloves when I got back frown

Need to savour today, will be a while before it’s possible again I think. Saw a few others out with the same idea.

There were quite a few massive ones about!

Nothing new in the Dales, I’ve honed my instincts for dodging them hehe

Rules being promulgated, you can go for a drive, should you want to, not illegal. Some old bill being a bit previous or ignorant of what law actually says apparently.

I’d say if you’re not acting the goat you shouldn’t have an issue, but just be sensible. It’s of course on your own conscience if you want to go out or not.

I can't help it. I always act the goat when I'm out on the bike. Just kidding. whistle

My conscience says no. The company I work for is classed as an essential service and I've done quite a few business miles in the last week, but the Elise won't be coming out again until this is all over. Would feel like taking the piss when others are confined indoors and many have lost their jobs or are on reduced pay.

Would have felt very self conscious if it'd had been last year - had an Evora as my only car then!

Just saw this thread, at the start of March I did a drive from North Leeds out to Whitby, parked up at the Abbey and wandered around the town and harbour for a couple of hours had a bacon buttie from the trailer café on the harbour where all the boat workers go then drove back again. I was back in Leeds by just after lunch.

Turned out to be the last drive I would do in my MX-5 because I scrapped it last week after getting underneath it and finding a number of expensive repairs so pleased I did that one.
