So having never been ive decided to take my daughter for a trip to take in the scenery and obviously the loch etc

Any particular routes to travel on the way? Only using the smoker so not driving roads in particular, more for scenery etc or both?

Also, plan to spend a about 3 days there so staying at a different B&B each night, any nice recommendations? Also recommended activities in the area?

Heading up around Aug if it makes any difference

Cheers

Go north via Connel Bridge so that you see the Pass of Brander at Loch Awe, and the Appin coastline.

The B80004 is an alternative from Fort William to Spean Bridge and will take you past Neptune's Staircase, the set of locks on the Caledonian Canal.

Return south via Glencoe and Rannoch Moor for the awesomeness.
Excellent, what im looking for, but dont suppose you can highlight this route via Maps could you please, no idea where most of those places are

Recommend staying in my home village of Fort-Augustus on the shores of Loch Ness. The Lovat Hotel is very good as is my mother in laws B&B "Sonas".
Take a trip around the loch on the south side first to see views like this...

Is Fort Augustus where they filmed the drama The Loch?

Had a look at the Lovat, pricey, but with a bar like that on offer i can see us booking there for a night

The south side does look stunning, as does the Integrale, well played! Is it worth the effort to head to the North side also or is the South better for views/accomodation? I had planned staying a night around the South, then head North for a night with a night somewhere in the middle on the way back down
