Hi,
Am looking for some advice on a speeding incident in January,I was caught doing 104mph on a 70mph (I know total stupidity!) I have a few query about it, I have just received a situation through for court! Today (20/10/18) Should I have received this sooner ?, Is it not that they need to make contact within 6 months? Also I was caught on a motorway with the police using a speed gun (speed gun unipar SL700) when traveling within their car, Is that allowed ? Also there are no bridges of police lay-bys in the stretch of road which leads me to believe they where either traviling while using the speed gun or sitting on a on slip road(hard shoulder!) Am I right in saying that this is for emergencies only ? Any clarification or pointed in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

James

I thought so! As am aware (from a police source) the police can’t sit on a slip road (hard shoulder) and use the gun hanging it out a window. I hope this is right!

No they pulled me over on the motorway, but didn’t have any video evidence only the laser speed gun.

Not a gult trip mate! It was a genuine! It was stupidity that I was doing that speed! That’s why I said that! But my wife was going into labour! And my child was breached! With her heart rate falling!

I only know too well about speed limits as I work in the Traffic Management industry and know how important a speed limits are. So thanks for your words of wisdom they are all very much appreciated.

Thanks mate, I know there is always people that are a bit condescending! It wouldn’t be that, if they did something wrong it would another story! And I very much doubt that the majority of drivers on the road drive at the correct speed limit! Please tell me someone who does? Be it that its 2mph over or 100 mph over, it’s still against the law!

The saying “People in Glass Houses should never throw stones “ comes to mind!
