Electric boiler installer: Edinburgh / East Lothian
Discussion
Thanks, wise words.
I'm in a tricky position as our house and the adjoining property used to share an air source heat pump that ran the under floor heating and two rads upstairs in each house plus free the hot water tank in each.
Said hot water tank has an immersion on a switch that we used to flick on to boost the hot water temperature on demand as the air source pump generally maxed our around 40degs, which was fine for the heating. Our shower is a cold feed only and we only have electricity to the house.
I've since severed the houses thus one retains the above set up on its own and mine currently has no heat source and an electric boiler is really our only viable / cost effective solution and my thinking is it will be ok to run the heating system and the immersion will be on a timer to boost as and when required for baths / hot water tap.
But yes, perhaps not the best solution but the cottage is small and incredibly well insulated thus I hope that the intended set up works well but yes, I do have some doubts but it's a bit rock / hard place but any input and advice is noted and appreciated.
I will discuss the options again before I commit it finding a good, reliable tradesman to do the job is proving a challenge.
