Hi peeps..I have been in touch for a while now with a nice chap caled Ross who has the sprintex kit based sierra and he has kindly sent me a link to some pics of the fitment that i requested..From what i can see it looks very tight to change the O/S spark plug bank and access to the dizzy is really limited..He is looking into having an intercooler as when he put it on a rolling road the intake temperature was measured at 90c..This was the reason why i was going to go the coil pack and aftermarket ECU route and cold air feed although he said that he has been running it with the supplied dizzy with no problems..Maybe just replace the inards with a lumenition set up??..I also noticed that the cold start injector has no electrical plug on it??..All in all though it looks like i might just be ready for the fest...Cheers...Ziga

it looks very tight in there, BUT i would love a supercharger in my life

will one day lol
Hi Mate..If you have room in the engine bay then its a go!!..There are kits out there for most cars and granted they are not cheap..I was lucky to find a kit that was designed by power engineering back in the day to go straight on the cologne..Otherwise it would of meant some serious fabrication of pipework and bracketry which really pushes up the pennies!!..Rotrex superchargers are compact and space saving but you will probably need to lower compression and fit different injectors and an uprated fuel delivery system..The kit that i have is a sprintex S102 and it weighs an absolute ton..all is forgiven though as i had been looking for such a kit for a year or so..Dont give up on the idea..One day will come!...cheers...Ziga

Hi simon..Megajolt is another option...I will be researching all the possibilities...cheers..

The one comment I have about the sierra installation is the position of the inlet pipe into the plenum - what does your plenum look like - does it have the same side entry air passage?
Hi Adam..yes mine is exactly the same, The plenum has to be turned round and the rocker covers swapped pver..The guy that sent the pics might be having an intercooler in a way that the plenum stays in its original position..Something i might consider..

Thanks Mate..So basically my engine is going to blow up!!... weeping....

Seriously though.. I have been thinking along those lines, I know the kit works with the supplied dizzy but like you say its old and slow..I was looking into a megajolt system with a map sensor to measure vacuum pressure as opposed to TPS but the more sensors the better really!..Bigger injectors are a must, I did have the WUR built to be easily adjusted and the old system used the 7th injector to up the fuel but again like you say its worth having ssomething that can respond quickly to changes in fuel and air ratios..And also the advancing and retarding of timing needs to be tip top..An intercooler is a must as the guy that im in contact with who has the SC sierra 4x4i said that the intake temperature on a rolling road was measured at 90c..Way too hot..He is looking into a modified cossy intercooler that keeps the plenum in its original position instead of turning it round..I will also fit the refrigerant kit to the plenum intake which is linked to full throttle for MASS cool air!...Im doing a lot of research before it gets fitted as i dont want to end up destroying my wedge...Hopefully i will redeem myself on the rolling road at this years fest..especially after being named and shamed in this months sprint as regards to last year!...(By the way it was 107bhp not 103)...hehe...Im aiming to smash that with double and a bit more...Cheers..Ziga

Hi jean...Thanks for the info..It was explained to me a while back as regards to the 2.8 efi plenum and manifold but to find them is not so easy..The early granada 2.8 efi is harder to find..I do look for these parts often but have not seen them being available in the last year or so..However i will continue to look...Cheers...ziga

Hi Graham..Thanks for that..I have regularilly looked for the EFI parts but to no avail and im begining to think that this supercharger project could become a bit too expensive and maybe should of just had John toovey race engines build me a race prepared engine, I must stop letting my heart rule my head as i did initially want a V8..Delilah has been a real learning curve and our love affair has been somewhat challenging but i think the time is approaching for me to call it a day and get a V8..I could always supercharge it and it will probably be a lot easier..Still beard scratching at the moment though...Cheers..Ziga

What's the state of play with your present engine Zig ?

I think I may have missed the rest of the thread where you were having it re-built ?

Have you felt the full 150/160bhp yet ?
Hi Mate..I was intending to have my old engine rebuilt which would of pushed out close to 240bhp without the charger..I had a replacement fitted which was rebuilt about 4 years ago and it has had little use, It is quite a smooth running motor and it feels twice as quick as the old one..BUT..And its a very big but..My plan was to get the chassis refurbed and all the drive train..Then the interior & Hood and then the bodywork..We are talking around 15K and thats without the 4K i have already spent..That is SEAC money!! and as much as i love delilah i feel she would make someone a good introduction to TVR wedges..It will be.. "Bye bye bye delilah"

Me too..Im a one wedge man..(Unless i win the lotto or get a big garage)..So to cheat on Delilah would not be good...We have had our moment's but she was neglected for years so that's understandable but she has a good heart..(Now)..and has been there for me the last 2.5 years ..Bless her.

you would be insane not to put your money into a nice 400SE.
Are you a mind reader mate?..I know of such a car..The problem being money..Although the inheritance is into another stage now so its looking promising for this year!...Sometime..I will probably miss out though..It always happens!...weeping
One consulation is that she is a good runner now and has been well documented on here, yes there are still some things that need doing but most are cosmetic..She would be a good first TVR for someone who wants a 280i wedge..

Hi Peeps..Well as you know im a bit of a fruitcake so plan A is still going ahead..I have a set of unleaded heads that are being worked on as we speak to lower the compression..Im ditching the power steering...The supercharger will be getting a makeover this week and should be fitted in a couple of weeks..Delilah will have a new hood & a new interior..Refurbed wheels and a new badge..Maybe a re-spray later..But for now im just going to see what happens...If i poo my pants then its all good..Well not totally but all good in the car department..I will also be looking for a sorted V8..lick..possibly the red one on the classifieds right now..Unless a sorted 400-450se suddenly makes an appearance...Oh yes baby..Theres nothing wrong with being surrounded by beautiful things..Cheers...Ziga

Hi Mate..I think mine is lounge carpet too unfortunately..There is loads of threadbear and the driverside has worn through in the footwell..Plus i wont be having it done for a while but if it is of any use then you are more than welcome to have it...You could always make a cardboard template of the carpet and purchase the automotive carpet and glue and DIY...I was going to but i found a reasonably priced trimmer and i like his colour ideas and qualities..Also if you wanted to do it yourself i dont mind helping!..

No worries Zig thanks anyway. Think Ill look at the DIY option Not quite sure about how it should have looked originally though as the current carpet is a real butchery of a job - there must be about 20 separate bits of carpet at the moment ! confused
Hi Ron..There is a guide in the wedge PDF as to the lay out, Its probably in scale so would need enlarging..If you dont have it then i will email it you..There are alternative carpet set's available for the wedge but im not sure what it includes??..Try to get along to a meet soon and then you can have a look at a few others...Ziga

Hi Mark what are you having done to the Sprintex mate ?
Hi Martin...Im just basically giving it a coat of etching primer and then spraying it black graphite HT paint..Heres the bottom part of it already done..Im then painting in red lines and spraying a TVR logo on it..The pipe work is remaining shiny...

Hi Mate..I could only find these for now and they are a bit more pricey than previous ones ive seen..Just been trying to find the thread on here from a little while back...Someone fitted a carpet set but i cant remember who...You could always call Gemini seat covers in penge..He is the trimmer i will be using as he quoted me 500 sobs for the whole interior so carpet wouldnt be that much...ziga

Good luck with the MOT..It's worth ringing Gemini as i said they quoted me 500 for the whole interior bar the seats..Which was wilton red carpet throughout..Black overmats with red piping..Black leather dash, Centre console with red stitching..Leather door caps..Diamond stitched Door cards..Arm rests in black leather with red stitching and gearstick and handbrake gaiters...So carpet alone i think was around 200...They will ask you to remove the seats though...Ziga

Hi peeps...Well by the looks of it the supercharger might just fit..It will need the pipe work re-made and the bracket will need re-fabricating...I will fit the bracket's in and bolt on the supercharger to clarify but from the onset it looks doable....Just waiting for the stainless steel manifolds from ACT and the unleaded heads can be fitted..Ooo this is exciting...Cheers...Ziga

Hi Peeps..Right today i fitted the brackets and the supercharger in..The main problem is the intake housing, I have found a local firm that can scan in any part and reproduce it in alloy or steel..While i was out there a guy pulled up in a Talk talk van and was saying that he used to work for TVR in the early days..He used to do 4 days a week at the factory and a day at engineering college..His name was Rob Benson..He ask how reliable mine was and said that 10 cars would go out and one would always come back with bits missing or hanging off it..I knew then he was genuine...hehe

Cheers Adam...Fingers crossed mate..I have been designing an optional intake housing that can be bolted to the existing one..It means that i only have 70mm clearance until it hits the bonnet, This gives me a 60mm OD inlet with a 10mm flange...(Oooh missus)..The initial inlet inner bore is a majority of 60mm so would like to adhere to it..5-8mm could be skimmed from the original inlet's face..Once this part is made i can get on and measure what fittings and associated alloy tubing will be needed to re-route the feed to the plenum..Are there any rules when it comes to distances between blower to plenum?..I should imagine the pressure even's that out..Im having it fitted by someone who is certified to fit turbo's and the like...Im also going for the amethyst ignition system that was pointed out to me by my friendly chimp mate..Who we havent heard from since his V8 LPG conversion...Perhaps he is still trying to run it out...scratchchin..Supercharger + LPG.... driving....nuts
I will also be blinging up the blower with some high temp graphite paint and red outline..Cheers...Ziga
