Introducing Wendy. Here she is outside Dan Taylors with Precilla.

Been in my keeping for a little over a month. Already done a mod as the rubber gear gaiter needed changing. Details here:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I've carried out a few service items - plugs, leads etc...

Rear light bulbs are now LED as are the front side and indicators. LED compatible relay keeps the indicator flashes legal.

Got some interior trim bits recovered in black to add a breakline to the cream interior:

Got a little project with a spare bootlid:

Tomorrow's job (in the rain) is to add a new muffler into the exhaust. If all goes well I'll do some other little jobs. All ahead of a trackday at Snetterton on Monday.

King lead now properly crimped and installed along. I also replaced the vacuum hose to the fpr as the silicone hose was too soft. A harder rubber item now fitted.

Well, Snetterton was fine until the rear brakes started binding. So rear brake refurb needed.

Anyway. Extra exhaust silencer fitted. Vacuum hose to the distributor advance for a harder rubber item, gapped the NGK Iridium spark plugs up to 0.95mm and glued on the rear view mirror mount for the MGTF item.

Handling was pretty good on trackday tyres and the geo sorted.

Wouldn't be a trackday without duct tape.

So been distracted by other things for the last few months so nothing done on Wendy.

New rear callipers are in my office. Will buy some new pads and then set about fitting. I also have a new hand brake cable to fit. Front brakes to update too. Just need to paint up the calipers.

Will check the diff mount and bushes for damage at the same time.

Was having some issues with the headlamp pods so have set them up for the time being. At the same time I've fitted some LED headlamp units. Vast improvement, needs new mounting bowls and beam set up. Both will be done.

I sourced some painted rocker covers for a good price and have fitted them along with stainless bolts and rubber gaskets.

I have a painted plenum, thermal gasket and stainless bolts to fit once ready.

I am waiting for some SE bonnet vents to arrive. These will be let into the bonnet along with a fresh air suuply to the heater.

Also waiting on an SE boot spoiler which will be fitted into the modified bootlid.

Also got a set of stainless manifolds on order that will be ceramic coated. A new exhaust will follow.

Then it is MOT time.

After that, I'll do the 'alternative radiator' upgrade.

Then Megasquirt?

Only had a small amount of time today. None the less, I put the battery on charge then took the AFM off ahead of fitting the new intake pipework on Friday. Need to replace the connector on the signal wire to the coil and the earth wire to the AFM so will do this on Friday. Have a waterproof connector but need a length of earth cable.

With be sending the wheels off for powder coating in the new year.

One wheel is at the refurb pit.

New [stainless] manifolds arrived this morning. Need to offer up to check they fit but then off to the ceramic coaters. ARP bolts and thermal [plenum] gasket in the hands of our fine delivery personel.

Got a couple of bits of metal trim to refurb and some minor GRP to do this week - assuming the weather stays dry and warm(ish).

Then the air dam is coming off.

Bit by bit.

Wheel collected.

Assuming I get through my work tasks today I'll take some pics and post them up.

Newly decoraterided rockers and plenum due next weekend so need to crack on with the plenum base ready for a straight swap.

Whilst juggling the wheels around I spent a few minutes thinking about the battery install.

I have an Odyssey PC925 to fit and have decided to use some 'big head' bond in fixings. Of course, the temperature needs to creep up a bit first! These should avoid the need for holes through the bodywork that can leak.

I agree, Wendy looks great on the 15-inch OZ cross spokes.

Although, I may try the 16-inch Spiders for a laugh one day smile

Was going to show you when [if] we [ever] meet up next.

Wendy was borderline 105dB.

These are motorbike inserts. Less than £40 for the pair. Take off the tailpipes and slide these into the back section of the exhaust. The bolt to the same hole used by the trims so can refit the trim too if desired.

They should work quite effectively but I'll need to do a trackday to confirm. Oh the toils of my life!

Some badges turned up today and the ECU has been on a spa treament break so a few more things checked off.

Ha!

May - Get the courtyard levelled and the existing stone in the cages. Then move on to stripping out the Office. Finish the bathroom at the parents house

June - FInish the Office refurb. Finish the landing at the parents house. Sort out the nursery

July - Refurb the last bedroom at my parents house. Baby proof the house.

Find time to earn some money. Find time to sort out the TVRs.

August - S-Club Tour!

Oh, and a development opportunity has come up this week that would be a shame to miss out on.

Oddly enough the 11th - 15th I've set aside for working on the parents house and Wendy as they are going on a holiday and I'm cat sitting.

Good opportunity to make a mess and 'spread things out'.

If I can check the fitment of the new manifolds that weekend then they can go off for coating. Then the only 'mechanical' item is the rear brakes.

The rest is electrical and bodywork - bonnet vents, bootlid mods, wing mirrors, front lights, MGTF rear view mirror ......

Been updating things on Facialbakie 'People's Front of Wedge' page which is closed to all but the most decerning idiot, so for the rest of us idiots here's an update.

Cleaned the swarf off the trimmed trumpets and these are now ready to go back on. The base needs vapour blasting and there are a pile of bits to be triple passivated. Will be dropping these off next week hoefully a week to turn around. Ordered a couple of bolts to plug things up but other than that the engine can be built back up.

Passenger side manifold is off, new one checked for fitting and clearance. Just the driver's side to check then these will go off for ceramic coating. I'll do this once the grp repairs are done.

The potentiometer wiring is badly frayed both on the loom and on the sensor. Considering the ACT upgrade item as it's replacement if a genuine one can't be found at reasonable price.

There's been some minor grp repairs required - old mounting holes, broken mounting holes, damage from grounding and removal of redundant accessories. Did a few but ran out of resin. Now purchased so I'll carry on tonight - assuming it stays dry.

Got some bits of trim being stripped of paint ready for some satin black Hammerite - should get this done this week too.

That's it for now.

Did some more GRP work last night before the rain came.

So then moved on to removal of the driver's side manifold. Manifold bolts off fine. Disconnected from remaining exhaust fine. Starter not budging. Left the two bolts with a good soaking of Duck Oil and will return to them with a breaker bar.

Made my mind up to get the ACT replacement TPS / potentiometer. Will order it when the plenum base is back.
