Well just went for a spin to Morrisons and back in the 390SE. Came out of the village and into the first right hand corner and rear nearside wheel bearing gave a scream, a judder and the handling became somewhat interesting. Coasted to a halt and there's now about 2" of movement in the wheel in all directions and a very nasty grinding noise as I wobble it about. I drove over to Wales last Sunday in it without a squeak or grumble so surprised it went without warning. New bearing and also new UJ ordered and I'll get both changed at the same time. Hey ho.

Oh no :-(

Put the spanners down and break out the 350i for the thrills in the hills event on Saturday :-)
Would love to Glen but away the weekend at the caravan down near Tenby. 350i went to the office today and will do tomorrow. Thought I'd give the 390 a quick squirt. Anyway that's why I've got two - duty/standby for when one is broken!

Adam - I'll let my mate who is a technician/mechanic sort this one out. I'll just get the parts. He charged me £25 last time to change a rear bearing on the 350i and he has the large socket, press etc.

Thanks Mark - I've got two new pukka nyloc hub nuts which I've had in stock for some time. As far as I can see the existing nut has not been drilled and pinned so may well be the original. Car still only has 57k on the clock. Cheers.

Andy Tank had some last year.
I reused the nylock ones and added threadlock !
i got mine from Andy a few years back now.

Dom - wheel bearing kit I bought was from TVR Parts - we'll see what the quality is like. Last year for the 350i I bought the kit off RT Racing, so Richard also can supply them. Cheers
