Hi guys,

The time is coming for the old exhaust on the 280 to be retired. Have any V6 owners done anything other than stock to get a great exhaust note?

She sounds good now, but no pop/crackles on overrun, and not that tuneful. Just looking at options before splashing out.

Very interesting. Would love to hear a video clip. No mufflers under the seats by the look of it?

My current setup goes through the suspension, and my exhaust guy did comment on that (not in a good way..) but if you go underneath, won't it foul when you put it on a hoist or else scrape on every speed hump it goes over?

Don't they all sound great! What's the story with the blue one at 0:49? Assuming that's a V8 but it sounds so different!

Okay quote received.

Steel system - don't need stainless as it never gets wet and is always garaged when not driving.

1. Delete underseat mufflers.
2. Run both sides from the headers down the centre of the car under the chassis all the way until after rear driveshafts then up.
3. H or X balance pipe under the centre of the car.
4. Hot dogs on the diagonal upward sections over rear suspension arm then out to the new tips.

$1200 AUD.

Is that a fact? Never knew that thanks Mike.

Existing system's done 20 years at least, I've had it 15, and it's not flaking even on the mufflers so I'll take my chances and use the money saved on the noisy gearbox.
