Hi guys,

Now that's time to refit the exhaust on my 350I Wedge, I realised that my 2 exhaust seal rings (down pipes to main silencer) are dead.

I've found a pair from Racetech website, but at GBP 28.74 (include delivery and VAT), it's, imho, "a tad" expensive, especially for carriage, as it epresents 6/10 of this total price !

Do you know if these exhaust seals (ref 035S100, apparently) can be found elsewhere, ie from another car ?

Cheers !

I tried this prior to post on this forum, but the friend who run a local garage can't help : he is not a new comer in this business, far from this, so I suspect this model of seal is not that easy to find in France, where I live.

I've already bought a pair for Range Rover : albeit the bore of 50mm is the same, the shape of the "ring" is totally different.

Their thickness is huge, more than 20mm larger than originals rings, this mean that the "Y" pipes welded to the main exhaust box don't fit properly on downpipes, and move the whole exhaust system back.

If I don't find a proper set of Rings, I may cut and weld back the 2 half of each RR rings, but I prefer to find the right thing !

I'll have a look on my 3.6 XJS exhaust, didn't realised that it could be the same ring.

Many thanks SLB, your reply made my day !

Edit : I just called one of my parts dealers, an the cars' list seems to be partially wrong, as this ring isn't fitted on the first cars listed....

Well, it seems that I'm less Lucky than you, mate : the ones I ordered yesterday, using the references given from EBay advert (and reproduce on my previous reply) are to big !

I need 50mm inner diameter rings, the ones I received are 58mm, holy s*** !

I'm fed of wasting time, I'll now try to order them from the same seller as you, via EBay.

May be the third attempt will be the right one ?

Absolutly : the rings from the list above won't fit, as Jaguar ones.

It seems that these 2" (about 50mm) rings are also fitted to some Ford Capris.

Whatever, I ended by ordering a set at a silly price from a TVR specialist, as I can't wait anymore : my Wedge need to move from my workshop, as one of my others classics need some tlc too !

Funny to see that some simple parts like these, are rather hard to find.

Is there any established cross references list for Wedges ?

We already now that the seals listed above are not corresponding to our cars, even if some will try to fit them using brute force.
