Well blow me down, back to the car not working as expected...again. I thought I was onto a summer of fun without greasy fingers...alas no chance.

Went out last night nice sunny evening, got about half a mile down the road sudden loss of power and then sounded like a tractor on a good day.
It appears that a fault that I had previously last year may have returned?

It seems as though RH bank is not firing at all.
Not carried out any electrical checks as yet, however there is fuel in the fuel rail, there is also fuel pressure. There is a strong spark, and the compression is good.
Turns out that the supposed good ECU does even start the car as lumpy as it at the mo, oh hum.

When I get a chance I will have to check the electrical circuits as per the advice that Ramon kindly left us.
As normal any words of wisdom will be keenly listened to.

Cheers

Hi, Yes, the resistor pack is one of the points to check, when I crack out the meter at some point. I have had the connector on and off a couple of times as well, all contacts seem pretty clean on both male and female sides.
I did peel back the boot albeit quickly the other day and could not see an issue at first glance.
Strange as it may sound I kind of want it to stay as is, as I would like to trace the fault once and for all. I just hope that the tests electrically help me, and all becomes evident.

Well ear to the injector says that the RH bank is not working. LH bank clicking away like a goodun.
Run through most of the testing and seems OK so far. Resistor pack is OK as far as the ohm test and voltage test, on both banks.
Resistance of the injectors is OK.

Beginning to think the ECU has an issue.

Think I may have cured it for the time being,
Re-flowed the 2 power transistors, now starts and runs as it should. I Will try it tomorrow and see if I can go further than half a milerolleyes

Well so far so good. Went out for a bit more of a run, probably 10 miles or so on some twisty stuff.
Still think there is an issue lurking somewhere. Tick over is a little high and seems not to adjust down.
It now feels like it runs a little differently. It no longer pops and bangs on deceleration (not a bad thing as it was a bit annoying). That is not an issue as I always see that as over-fueling in any case.

I think that re-soldering the power transistors has definitely had an effect, apart from giving life to the bank of injectors.
Just plod on until the next thing breaks. cool
