S3 280DH TVR's/Chris Scherle evolved through racing, SEAC chassis, A frame rear suspension, with the front suspension the correct way around, 400 cooling, SEAC 4 dial interior, all the owners still could not believe they were crash test dummy's/development staff after 6 years of it being developed. (FANTASTIC bit of kit, well, would think that, as I own one). A@

The question is too simple as there are a host of USA specs.

OK I own this car which appears to be reasonably well known. Do you know if it's 1/2/3?

That's Delilah. Very well know car and used to run forced induction. If you search PH there are lots of threads and youtube videos. It would be great to see her brought back to her former glory.
Yes I gather she's well known but I would quite like to know if she is S1, S2 or S3. smile As the models are separated in the sticky I thought it would easy to identify the differences.

I can't see the expenditure on a full restoration stacking up against the projected value but I'm not an expert on wedge values. I'm sure the day will come based on other TVRs but wedges seem a bit of an outlier to me.

She should be running sweet as and not needing restoration, I spent loads of money saving her from the scrappers in 2010...she is an S1.5 smile
Yes, I read a bit about your love affair. I think she was neglected between leaving you and ending up in my ownership so probably not in the condition you remember her. No, I'm not scrapping her. I'll wait for the weather to improve then I'll have a proper look at her. Last time she ran she was overheating but until temps shot up was running sweetly enough. Can't comment on the drive because she was trailered to me. I suspect she has just sat because things like tyre valves are perished as hell - too dangerous to drive with as one simply snapped when I was trying to inflate a tyre.

That is sad, I think I tried saving her again before you bought her last year?...I offered more than she went for so was a bit bitter, and have since been forced to sell my 350i...she had a £700 radtech alloy rad and 18" turbo kenlowe fan so should not over heat...is the fan kicking in?..the drivetrain should be good...mind you it has been a few years I guess...poor ole girl..if you need talking down from the bridge once you start on her let me know..smile
I don't have much time to invest in her. What I'll probably do is see if I can get her easily to a standard where she can get an MOT and go from there or not.

Thanks for the offer of help. In the short term tyres will probably be needed and they'll need to come off anyway for new valves. Would you recommend any particular brand that suits the car?

I'll check the overheating again in a few weeks but I don't remember the fan cutting in and I obviously switched her off quickly.

Needs a couple of tyres and then I'll unearth the car. Might not be for a few days though as I don't know how long the tyres will take to arrive and then I'll need to take the wheels to get them fitted. In the meantime, does any of this look like you last saw it?

Cannot believe how unloved she has been...jesus...honestly...looks like the cruddy rad cap is leaking and possibly the overflow outlet...the pipe looks rotten..crikey why has she been so unloved...breaks my heart...frown
I bought her like that. She has been kept inside since then and just haven't had the time to do anything. I'm still waiting for a couple of new tyres to turn up and once they're fitted I can have a better look.

The guy I bought her from kept her much as I did AFAIK so not sure when the neglect happened. There are a mixture of tyres on there, two decent Nankangs, one knackered Firestone and then a lingong plus an OK spare, so I have two new Nankangs incoming.

My default tyre is the MPS but not available in 14". Not much is!

Long time no reply. I have been away sorting out crap for various people so no time for cars. Plus it's freezing! I need to move a few cars around to get the TVR out so it may be put off until the forecast and daytime temps improve. I have now got four good tyres on the car though so assuming it starts, moving it won't be too difficult.

the original speed rating is V, 205/60R14 in V arent exsiting anymore new. but the V Rating is part of the original supply and some insurances may refuse to pay when you have an insurance-case. so you using H-Tyres means driving-around un-insured.

this said.....its difficult to find a 14" tyre with similar (legal) circumference as alternative.
by chanigng to 15" wheels you are leaving the path of originality and depends in which country you live you cannot fit a random wheel on the car....the wheel must be type-approved.
Insurance isn't an issue. I refer any changes to my insurer and running the car with the NS2 and Falken 14 inchers is fine.
