Moving to South Wales, any Newport folks about?

Hi all,

I'm hoping to move to S. Wales within the next few months, pending house sale.

I've picked out Newport and the surrounding areas as my base as I need to be within 35minutes-ish of Portbury near Bristol.

Ate there any local folks who could tell me where I want to live and more importantly where I want to avoid.

Cheers folks, I should probably mention though that I go to work at 3-4am in the morning and return early afternoon

My search area is quite wide and also includes all the areas mentioned already as well as up towards Cwmbran. I guess I'll stay away from the Corporation Road area, although that's where my favourite house so far is. Funnily enough I heard a report this morning on the news about the most and least popular places in the UK, Newport was mentioned..... last

I think I've made my mind up on location, I'm going to stick to the East of or above the tunnels. As people have mentioned, they get proper snarled up quite often.
