TVR broken diff mount

Having just replaced the C.V. joints on the car I was pleased with the car, recently struck a sunken manhole cover and noticed a clunking sound from the rear of the car. Further investigation revealed a broken diff mount 
Now I have had a gutsfull of our shabby roads 
I may give the local council a call 
poxy roads etc. Dont think it will do any good unless I claim for damages to the car, they will probably just repair the manhole cover and make the proceedings for a claim real awkward.
