From the organisers

Dear all,

As you may or may not be aware, we have had to move the track event scheduled for April and July.

We are very keen to kick start this event back up to success it used to be and we’re very reliant on the continued support you offer. Please rest assured that we don’t make these decisions likely and we understand that any change of date has the potential to cause massive disruption to all involved. It is likely that this will be the only event of this type this year so we’re keen to fill it.

All we can do as a team is offer our deepest apologies and extend an invite to the next event. The next event has been planned for the 18th and 19th of Aug 2012. The reason for the gap between events is to ensure, as far as we possibly can, that the dates will remain available.

As way of an apology the previous offer is still in place.

As a very small offering we have taken the decision to discount the next event – It will now be £50 for the car AND first driver. All other drivers/passengers will remain at £10 per head (Max of 4 people in any one car). Any people wishing to book for the whole weekend will only have to pay £50 to secure themselves and ALL their additional entrants for the second day!

We will also be running the circuit in both directions so you effectively get two tracks for the price of one. We have also secured a rolling road for the Saturday and other facilities will be available all weekend including bodywork detailing and tyre repair/replacement/balancing.

Once again, thank you and we all hope to see you in August. It’s been a long time!

Regards

George

Other important info carried over from the previous event post

We on the track day team have listen very carefully to all of your suggestions over the years and we are pleased to announce a number of improvements to our event.

The first change is the new Marham Track Days Website. This website will have all the usual facilities for booking and paying (PayPal) for entry. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CHEQUES ANYMORE. The website will also contain all driving information, maps, photos of past events and FAQs. No need for moderators to collect details anymore. We will take all the info we need from our website.

The major change is to the format of the day. For the first time in our 7 year history we will be changing the track direction half way through the day (lunch break). This means that you get 2 TRACKS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!! This should help out with tyre, suspension and brake wear too.

We have 180 car places per day, 360 places in total.

BC's comments

The website can be found at www.marhamtrackday.co.uk

Although it appears to be down right now???

Once this is working I'm sure Marham will send out another email to inform all the forum contacts it's open for bookings

If you have any questions or queries, please get in touch with either Rob Swanson or George Denman, by emailing us at adminATmarhamtrackdayDOTcoDOTuk Or via phone on 01760 337261 x6514 or x7146.

I think I will be at Marham after all, but will probably just do one day as I'm hoping to do a round of the British Autocross Championship the following weekend. That's on the loose, so the Nova will be in really really oversteery setup this time. Yee-ha...
You always set it up like that???

What day do you think you’ll be doing? I doubt many RR people will be going due to the clash with their big show.
I think you are right ^

ABS attendance will be quite low as well looking at the thread response so far

Goddamnit, I went and got tickets for the gathering and then, out of the whole of August or in fact just leaving it 'til the September date they choose THAT weekend!
I really want to do RRG as i haven't been for a year or two but a few friends missed the boat for camping ticketsfrown Now, would I rather take the Mini up the hill or round the circuit? Decisions decisions...
^ was exactly my problem as well - I thought about Marham on Sat and RRG on Sun but that's just asking for trouble

From the organisers

Dear all,

Just a quick reminder to say that the Track Weekend planned for the 18th/19th Aug is still going ahead and still has plenty of places left.

This will be the only event of this type this year but we hope to go back to two events per year in 2013.

For this event we’re planning on an open pit lane all day both days. At lunch we’ll be turning the track round so you get two tracks for the price of one! As for the price, we have discounted it to a very low £50 for car and first driver.

We have all the usual facilities including a tyre fitter and rolling road along with a mobile bodywork tech who can discuss any detailing questions you may have.

I hope you and your group can come but could I please ask that you spread the word as far as you can so that we can get the most money raised for charity.

Please dot the website details in as many places as you can. This will help me out massively. – www.marhamtrackday.co.uk

Thank you

George

I have finally got my car I would like to do this track day in. Problem is I think the car will be too loud, it also has a external waste gate which is venting to the atmosphere....

Does anyone know somewhere in Norwich or Norfolk I can get the car tested?
Is it as loud as this

Other cars in shot make good comparison Black Monza just scrapes in on the Snetterton Evening sessions with 101.8 db

Come and find me (red Nova), my brother (black Holden) or David (silver 924) and we'll look after you if you're unsure.
Thanks guys, I will be the guy who looks lost with a black RX7.
Seriously - do find them........ All of them offer really good instruction either as a guiding passenger in your car while you drive helping you build up confidence or if you hop in with them as a passenger

One word of warning - Robg2 - that red nova - don't follow his lines into the corners until you have several days at marham under your belt and understand exactly what he does with the car ;-)

Stuart and David follow them any time and you'll be fine biggrin

Gutted to miss Marham for the first time since it started but it clashes with another event that I help at so I'll be runing up prescott hill - last ever outing for the Monza before most of it gets fragged

Hope you all have a great day

We will return in the Spring, now I'm going to try and get some sleep and hope my sunburn fades.....

Rob Swanson
I'll be there for the next one - please don't ever run one in August again especially on the weekend of 17th/18th in 2013

I know there were reasons for this year but it's a rubbish month with families taking holidays and some pretty big shows elsewhere.

Sounds like you guys had some fun - I always wanted to make Marham the last event for the Monza seeing as it started it's track life there but it didn't work out

Ian,

You and the Monza were missed mate, by me at least! Can she hold on till spring or is winter 'fragging' season in the B'Stard household?
Have to get the new track car ready for France in Feb ;-)

If I miss or even if I don't then it will be ready for Marham - just not a Monza

Gents.

I've knocked up a small write up and put it on the website

http://www.marhamtrackday.co.uk/?page_id=916

The only pics at the moment are Ben's (thanks for emailing these through to me mate!) but there are a pile more to add when I get chance to sort them all out. Also a video to make at some point too, just need to find the time!
A lot of that really made me chuckle thanks for that biggrin Especially the comments about the red nova - no matter how many times I've said it people still don't get that if you try and follow it you will end up crying (I've been in it as a passenger and what Rob does with it is sureal)

It's Rob or George I think. Rtv just above your post is the main man. And i think b'stard child is tother. But i get confused!
Let me help

I'm definately not Rob (rtv) or George (GeorgeyDee)

A zillion years ago a PH'r called Grandad Gaz used to co-ordinate the PH attendance at RAF marham Track days and a damn fine job he did too, I used to co-ordinate the attendance of 2 other forums and when Grandad Gaz needed a break (life, house ectension etc) I sort of picked it up as well as the two I already co-ordinated and I carried on for a fair while mainly starting the threads and collection the payments and attendee details befopre submission to Marham sometimes before the deadline (yeah right!!)

Then RAF marham got a website based booking system and I was redundant wink

However I still go to the events (OK I've missed just one since it started so my 100% perfect attendance has a tiny blot) and I help out where I can on here and it seems I still start the threads (well somebody has too biggrin)

So bottom line is I have very little to do with the events apart from starting a thread on 3 different forums and chipping in with advice/answering questions where I think I know the answer

I've read that back twice and it still can be interpreted several differnt ways - most on here know how I would like it to be interpretted so I'll leave that to trust
