I was in the pub earlier with Dave (406tm) and it occurred to me that now's a good time of year for a small social gathering of local PH'ers.

Well, the roads are too sh1tty for to take the cars for a good run, so we may as well sit in a pub and talk about them.

The date - Next Thursday (22nd December) approx 8.00PM.

The venue - To be confirmed next week, dependent on numbers.

The players - Add yourselves to the list! See you next week

Which pub you thinking of?

Depends on everyone's preference really - I'd suggest Charters or The Palmerston Arms (but then I am a sucker for a good pint of ale )

If people are thinking of bringing their P&J then we'll go somewhere out of town with better car parking.

After extensive testing the venue's been confirmed as The Brewery Tap on Westgate. Should be a good atmosphere in there Thursday night, and usually suits lager and ale fans alike. Food's good too if anyone's peckish!

I'd suggest parking in the coach park behind the Tap. Meet up around the bar at 8.30.

The list so far? -

If anyone needs directions feel free to PM me.

See you Thursday.

I'm thinking of getting a taxi

Now that is a cracking idea. Means I have to make an early decision on having a 'quiet pint' or a 'heavy session' though.

So who's up for a late one? If the consensus is an early (ish) finish I'll drive (and can do local lifts home if required). If it looks like it's going to get messy the car will be left at home and taxis organised...

Looks like I've got an early start on friday, so I'll be driving tomorrow night.

Hopefully gives me an excuse to have a couple of hours off the Xmas shopping to give the Wedge a wash too!

It's just occurred to me that

I'll be in the bar at around 8.00. Meet up next to the Christmas Tree which is next to the stairs.

See you all later! - 8.00 onwards by the Christmas tree in the Tap. Suggest parking in the Coach Park behind the pub.

Cracking night out guys. Glad you all enjoyed it.

Will have to get to work on the next one now. I'll start a new thread to avoid confusion, but (provisionally) how would you all feel about getting together around lunchtime on New Year's Eve for a drive / pint / possible spot of lunch?

I'm guessing no-one's got work commitments then, and if we go around lunchtime it'll mean we'll all be back in plenty of time to get ready for NYE parties in the evening!

Plan?
