Where would you look for the cheapest place to move around 8 cubic meters of general household items (mostly books) from storage in Bristol to New York ?

I have been looking at different shipping companies but could really do with a good recommendation.

I had some stuff shipped out by Cadogan Tate, there wasn't much hassle although you have to give them quite a lot of information for customs. I didn't pay the bill so can't tell you if they're reasonable. Took about 3 months door to door.
Thanks, will go and have a look.

A quick update for those who are interested.

In the end I went with express-exports. They seemed to a good mixture of professional and lowish cost.

4.5 cubic meters, from Bristol to New York was 1,150 pounds without insurance.

The US leg, from offloading from the ship, through Customs, offloaded into a ware house then finally onto New York was handled by another company. Contour Logistics Inc. The communication was good from the office and estimate on delivery date was about right. The delivery was 3 hours later and the guys who did it was less than careful. I had to keep asking them to stop dropping boxes... In the end not too much was broken and nothing went missing.

Customs charges were another $28, and going up 3 flights of stairs was another $70.
