Where can I get cables soldered locally?
Discussion
I know it's something I should be able to do myself - but a couple of attempts with a soldering iron have proved it's not where my skills lie!
I have a fairly expensive Hi-fi XLR cable where the end connector has become detached, so it needs to be repaired. I'd rather avoid sending it back to Chord - especially since I've had it repaired once before and the evidence suggests that their soldering isn't any better than mine.
Any suggestions for somewhere local that could re-solder a cable? I really have no idea where to try!

You sure you can't do it yourself? It's a 30 sec job to solder an XLR? just use a vice to hold the connector
Do you have a picture of the damage? Is it some sort of odd cable?
If you want replacement ends you can get them from here.

It's a 30s job if you can solder - having tried, I clearly can't, and I spent more than 30s trying.
There isn't anything special about the cable - other than it was very expensive - but I simply seem unable to solder the cable to the connector. It seems to be a skill I completely lack.
