M3 Travellers - Longcross
Discussion
The other day I noticed, through a gap in the trees a nice looking old house, up in the trees above the longcross track. It was the crane next to it that drew my attention.
I'd never noticed the house before. Despite travelling past it 5 days a week since 2001 (drepressing!).
The house has got a green dome/belltower of some sort and I've been poring over google maps and can't find it.
So i'm wondering if its a film or tv set they have built, as I know theres a film studio there. If it is a set its very convincing. I thought that kind of thing would be done in CGI nowadays or at least they'd find a suitable national trust place or something.
And if it is real and has been there all the time how come i've never seen it before - i must need my eyes testing.
So - is it a film set, or is it real?

Well the cranes have come down and the mystery building appears to be complete.
Pretty sure it's film related. It looks a little odd to be anything else, with the dome and what looks like some kind of lighthouse feature, plus it seems to have weathered incredibly quickly.....artificially quickly?
i don't know - i can only sneek glimpses of it when i'm driving.Pretty sure it's film related. It looks a little odd to be anything else, with the dome and what looks like some kind of lighthouse feature, plus it seems to have weathered incredibly quickly.....artificially quickly?
is it new or was it always there and the trees have cleared a bit?
