Surrey Meet 1/2018, Sunday 6th May, Fairmile Pub, Cobham

Apologies for the short notice! New job, stag to Portugal etc etc!

The meets last year were good but lets call this one a 'soft opening' for 2018 as I am so late getting this together and it's the bank holiday...

And I also won't be there more than a few minutes before we head to Guildford for lunch with the family!

The usual details:

All cars are more than welcome to come to The Fairmile Pub in Cobham (close to A3/ M25) on Sunday 6th May for a meet:

The pub is now under new management and still opens at 12pm but they weren't sure about us coming at 11am, as we used to.

Suggest we meet on the grass from 11:30am for a catch up and then see how it goes... I am yet to book future dates.

Would be great to meet some fellow PHers and see a nice variety of cars.

There is loads of parking and we can use the green out the front for parking/ display.

There is also a Shell garage, opposite, so we can all fill up with the good stuff or use the Jet Wash.

Lets get a list going:

To be fair; originally Saturday wasn't an option as the pub only had one monthly recurring Saturday/ Sunday available to us.

Not so sure that's true now as the diary didn't look so busy (change of management maybe hadn't updated bookings).

We've had some great turnouts though and some fantastic cars. Empirical evidence seems to suggest it's more weather dependant than anything else.

Assume a few will be away for the BH weekend but hopefully we'll get a fair turn out and we can re-think the day and increase the notice next time.

Brilliant! We'll not be in the V6... Mrs.9 has convinced me that road parking it in the old-folks area of Guildford is probably not the least risky thing I've ever done!

When I left at 12pm there were 17/18 but it felt like people were still appearing... it was mostly regulars too but having an e92 M3, 4C, GT3, GT4, Elan, KTM, etc etc; we had a nice selection.

Did you come later on or were you enjoying the pleasures of Epsom instead?

Simple answer is 'no', at the moment...

I'm currently in the Cotswolds, Oslo next week and then Mallorca the weekend after.

I didn't want to do another rush job and no show. I'll get a date in the diary for when I can put some extra effort into publicising it a bit and see if there's a weekend when there aren't too many other local meets etc.

Was still a good turn out last time but it would be nice to get even more there and make a bit of a day of it, especially if the weather is good!

Back from Mallorca and riddled with man flu...

House purchase fell through this morning so the V6 is still in the garage...

I'll nip over there this weekend and have a gander at the diary!

Sorry - I did head over but they've completely fenced the fields in... they had a problem with the travelling community. Looks like meets are happening again though!

Went down there earlier and booked it.

19th May was busy so took the 26th May... That's the bank holiday (I think) so I suspect you'll all say you're away now!
