Hi,

what is the impact of the new runway at heathrow likely to be for windsor?

We are likely to move there.
But my partner is now raising concerns about the extension at heathrow.

Thanks

A third runway will mean new flight paths. Those haven't been decided yet and being so close to the airport any changes for Windsor will only be for departures.

Heathrow was committing to no arrivals before 0530, 60mins later than now.

Arrivals over Windsor are 30% of the year, but it can vary as it's wind dependent.

They were also looking to remove the Westerly Preference which would mean that 30% goes up.

Those 0530 arrivals would be rotated across all 3 runways on a weekly basis. So a prolonged period of easterlies may mean you only have them overhead one.week in three. Dependent upon the property location.

Any questions shout. I was one of the R3 consultation team.
What will be the impact on pollution in the air?

At the moment us aqi is very good at around 2 or 3 for windsor.

Do you know what that would likely be pre covid with more flights?
And what is projected post expansion?

I am getting a lot of flack from my partner about the health risks of moving to windsor, both in normal and post expansion timres.

Thanks if you have any info.

Bit confused.
When will the expansion be finished/operational?

Thanks for all the replies.

To be more precise, we are looking around clewer green/clewer new town ish areas.
Near the big tesco tnere.

If the planned date for completion was late 2018/early 2019, surely that must have changed/been put back now?

If it is 10 years or more till it becomes fully operationall, then that's a long time, and other than a fall in house prices due to the extension, probably not an issue for many years.

Will it affect house prices in Windsor area going foreward?

My problem now is that reason can't prevail as my partner seems intent on anywhere else but windsor.

House sale going through soon, haven't found a place to buy yet and now ruling out the only place we have viewed in the 2 months we have been locking.
I dispair.
