1.0 Ecoboost Focus fuel economy
Discussion
Hello,
Anyone on here have one of the above and what do you make over the overall fuel economy?
I have recently taken delivery of a 125ps Zetec S, it's a very nice car but I'm interested in people view on the fuel consumption, I've done 700 miles in it now and the average was sitting at 37.8 mpg before I started a proper Eco test on my 40 mile commute home this morning.
I intend to drive in a steady manor for the next 2 weeks not going above 70 unless it's for safety reasons, most of my driving is on duel carraigeway or motorway but I do have to traverse the Dartford Crossing every working day at various times and it's usually queuing at least one way of the trip my 'test' should cover around 850 miles so by then I should have a good idea of what it's real average is.
Anyone else got any figures?

If you have an hour or two to listen to a salesman I really do recomend a test drive, it's a revaltion. Think similar performance to a 1.6tdci without the low revs lag, the 1.0 is very lively at low revs (no getting caught out a roundabouts) I had the same shape Focus 1.6 125 vvti previously and it was truley awful, I hated driving it, not so with the new one

I drove our demo 125PS for a couple of days and got circa 44mpg. Steady driving on motorway and A roads mainly.
Most of my customers are very happy with them, most getting 40> mpg.
I'm very happy with the car, the way it drives, looks and go's are all fine it's just that I hoped for at least mid 40's mpg wise, I don't thrash the thing, cruise at 70 and I'm a professional driver so know all about defensive driving, now has 1600 miles on the clock Most of my customers are very happy with them, most getting 40> mpg.

I have had a Focus Titanium 125 ecoboost since September 2012. Been in once already for fuel consumption issues i.e. driving steady and 37mpg. Ended up with a "re map" from Germany. This around 3,400 miles. Called again last month to register same complaint. Have logged journeys, dates , mileage etc for them over 2 tank fulls. Result 1st trip av speed 35mph av fuel 40.1mpg over 394 miles,2nd trip av speed 29mph av fuel 37.6mpg over 390 miles. Car now done around 7,300 miles. Booked back in on 6th March as need courtesy car. Will keep you posted on outcome. This doesn't seem to be unusual which is worrying. If I put my foot down in 2nd gear does 7mpg according to computer, ouch!!. Amount of fuel i put in and miles done seems to match computer figures. All in all not a happy bunny. Shame because car is quite nice.
Thanks Baan please do, may well be booking mine in :/Thanks for your continued replies people, I'm on my second 1.0 ecoboost now (ink blue Zetec S) still only averaging 38-39 on my 80 mile round trip commute but as others have said, fuel is cheaper and the driving experiance is so much better than the diesel, I'll be getting another as I've heard the residuls on the 1.6 180 are not as good as the 1.0! I change my car often and was considering testing the 1.6
