Phew.. what a name.

Anyway, has anyone had any experience with these? They seem like great all-rounders and a lot of car for your money, and the Powershift gearbox seems to get a lot of praise.

I would prefer the 240bhp version - is there a way of telling for sure when this was introduced over the 200bhp version?

Facelift Mondeo Titanium X Sport (with DRL's in the bumper) = 240PS.
When was this brought in, please?

Thanks! So any 2.0T TitX Sport made on or after that date will have 240bhp?

I ended up buying one. Had it almost 3 years now and I'm still very happy with it. Not had any problems with it aside from a slightly weeping coolant hose which I replaced for about £15.

Excellent all-round car IMHO.

It's also worth bearing in mind the gearbox MUST have a oil change regular, every 30-40k, this is absolutely critical and costs around £400 a time
Incorrect. It's £250 from a Ford dealer.

If you can get the job done and not just quoted, for £250 then that's a very very good price. When I purchased mine I found a receipt from Ford Leeds for £380 for the box oil change. Mine was approaching the mileage for replacement just before I sold it and I got quoted £350 from a local Ford dealer. Talkford members quoted me £300-£400 as their typical costs. Regardless of cost, it's absolutely essential if you want the box to remain trouble free.
Well I just had my second gearbox service at that price this April (the first one in 2014), so yeah confused

Agreed that it's essential though, and it's hardly a huge expense in the grand scheme of things.

My old one returned around 30mpg on my daily commute which is all country lanes, 27mpg if I drove it a bit harder on the commute. Best I saw was 42mpg on a long, steady motorway trip. To say its a big heavy car, I thought they were reasonable figures tbh.
Sounds about right. I used to get 30mpg on a mixed motorway/town-with-traffic commute, and my newer commute is 6 miles of urban driving which averages about 25. On a motorway run I can get 40-42.

I have a 2016 2.0 ecoboost (my research is based off this model year).
The diesels come with the powershift duel clutch.
The petrols come with a 6 speed torque converter auto.

Alot of wrong information on the subject, even from the motoring press.
Bit of thread resurrection here, but does anyone know if this is correct info? I'm considering a 2010 (10 reg) 2.0 petrol 203ps one of these and I'd be far more confident buying if it's a TC auto, not a dual clutch. The advert for the car, of course, blanks the full reg so I can't look it up on ETIS.
The quoted information above relates to the mk5 Mondeo and is correct.

The 2010 will be a mk4 and the 2.0 Ecoboost (203ps that you refer to, and later 240ps in the facelift TXSport) was only available with the Powershift dual-clutch auto.

I had mine for 7 years and other than it being a bit rough-and-ready compared to the VW DSG, it didn't give me any problems. I had the oil and filter changed on time.
